Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention generally relates to an apparatus, a
system and a method for storing articles on a movable frame. The
movable frame may be incorporated into a lifting device, such as,
for example, a scissor lift, an aerial lift and/or the like. The
apparatus and the system provide a base having exterior walls for
connecting to and/or removably attaching to the movable frame. The
exterior walls may extend vertically from the base to form, for
example, a shelf. Interior walls may extend from the base to
define, for example, compartments on the base. The interior walls
may be removable from the base. The interior walls may be
adjustable to change a number, a width and/or a length of the
compartments. In addition, the base may have a front wall and a
rear wall which may connect to and/or attach to the exterior walls.
The rear wall, front wall and exterior walls may form, for example,
a drawer. The shelf, the compartments and/or the drawer may store
and/or may contain the articles. The apparatus and the system may
form and/or may provide multiple drawers, compartments and/or
shelves for storing the articles.
[0002] It is generally known that maintenance, repairs and
construction are frequently required in locations and/or positions
which are difficult to reach. Lifting devices, such as, for
example, scissor lifts may be used to raise an individual into a
position to repair, construct and/or maintain an item. The
individual may perform a task, for example, repairing an item, such
as, for example, repairing a faulty wire, replacing a light bulb,
securing a loose conduit, plugging a water leak, tightening a nut
or a bolt and/or the like. The task may be, for example, installing
an item, such as, for example, installing a water line, securing
dry wall to a ceiling, installing a ceiling fan, installing a
chandelier, attaching an advertisement to a billboard and/or the
like. The task may be maintaining items, such as, for example,
washing windows, painting ceilings, cleaning light fixtures and/or
the like.
[0003] The task may require a tool, such as, for example, a wire
cutter, a screwdriver, a level, a voltage meter, a brush, a drill,
a wrench, a hammer, measuring tape, a ruler, electrical tape, a
hammer, a bucket, pipe threaders, pipe cutters, a saw and/or the
like. In addition, the task may require accessories, such as, for
example, nails, screws, nuts, bolts, identification tags, string,
drill bits and/or the like. The tools and/or the accessories may
vary in size and shape.
[0004] Generally, the task may require multiple tools and/or
multiple accessories to repair, to construct and/or to maintain
items. The individual may stand on a platform of the lifting
device. The lifting device may lift and/or may position the
individual a distance from the ground. The individual may carry
and/or may hold the tools and/or the accessories required for the
task. However, the task may require more tools and/or more
accessories than the individual can carry and/or can hold on the
platform of the lifting device. As a result, the individual may
merely complete a portion of the task. Afterward, the individual
may lower the lifting device to the ground to store the tools
and/or the accessories. In addition, the individual may obtain
additional tools and/or additional accessories to complete a
remaining portion of the task. Requiring the individual to be
lowered to the ground and raised and/or lifted into position
repeatedly is time consuming. In addition, the individual may be
paid and/or may be compensated on a time basis by an employer.
Therefore, lifting and/or lowering the individual repeatedly may be
costly to the employer.
[0005] Furthermore, the task may require the individual to hold
and/or to grasp the item while using a first tool and/or a first
accessory. As a result, the individual may place and/or may
position a second tool and/or a second accessory on the platform of
the lifting device. However, the individual may step on the second
tool and/or the second accessory. The individual may slip, may
become off-balanced and/or may be injured by stepping on the second
tool and/or the second accessory. As a result, positioning the
second tool and/or the second accessory on the platform of the
lifting device may pose safety risks to the individual.
[0006] In addition, the individual may accidentally move, contact
and/or push the second tool and/or the second accessory from the
platform of the lifting device. The second tool and/or the second
accessory may fall toward the ground and may hit and/or may contact
a bystander. Therefore, the second tool and/or the second accessory
may pose safety risks to a bystander.
[0007] A need, therefore, exists for an apparatus, a system and a
method for storing articles on a movable frame which may connect
to, may attach to and/or may secure to a lifting device.
Additionally, a need exists for an apparatus, a system and a method
for storing articles on a movable frame which may have a
compartment for storing the articles, the accessories and/or the
tools. Further, a need exists for an apparatus, a system and a
method for storing articles on a movable frame which may have a
shelf for storing and/or securing the articles, the tools and/or
the accessories. Still further, a need exists for an apparatus, a
system and a method for storing articles on a movable frame which
may have store and/or may secure the articles, the tools and/or the
accessories at a distance from a platform of a lifting device.
Moreover, a need exists for an apparatus, a system and a method for
storing articles on a movable frame where the articles may vary in
size and/or in shape. Furthermore, a need exists for an apparatus,
a system and a method for storing articles on a movable frame which
may have a compartment adjustable to a size of the articles, the
tools and/or the accessories. In addition, a need exists for a
system and a method for storing articles which may prevent tools,
accessories and/or the articles from falling from a lifting device.
Further, a need exists for an apparatus, a system and a method for
storing articles on a movable frame which may limit an individual
from using a lifting device to repeatedly lower and repeatedly lift
the individual into position to complete a task.

[0052] The protrusions 25a, 25b may extend from the bases 5a-5c to
removably attach and/or to secure the exterior walls 11a, 11b of
the bases 5a-5c. The protrusions 25a, 25b may be, for example, a
portion of the bases 5a-5c extending outward with respect to the
bases 5a-5c. The protrusions 25a, 25b may be a strip, a bar, a band
and/or the like. The groove 19 may secure to and/or may removably
attach to the protrusions 25a, 25b to prevent the bases 5b, 5c from
moving vertically with respect to the base 5a. The bases 5b, 5c may
be removably attached and/or may be movable with respect to the
base 5a via the protrusions 25a, 25b and the groove 19. The bases
5b, 5c may removably attach and/or may be movably connected to the
base 5a via any device, apparatus and/or combination of parts known
to one of ordinary skill in the art.
[0053] The exterior walls 11a, 11b may extend the distance D1
outward with respect to the top surface 7 of the base 5b. In an
embodiment, the exterior walls 11a, 11b of the base 5b may connect
to, may abut and/or may attach to exterior walls 11c, 11d. The
exterior walls 11a-11d of the base 5b may form, for example, a
drawer 12. The interior 13 of the drawer 12 may be, for example, a
chamber, an alcove, a chamber, a cavity and/or the like. The base
5b may move with respect to the bases 5a, 5c. In an embodiment, the
exterior walls 11a-11d of the base 5b may form the drawer 12 which
may removably attach to the protrusions 25a, 25b of the base 5a.
The interior 13 of the drawer 12 may store, may secure and/or may
contain the articles.
[0054] The exterior walls 11a, 11b may extend the distance D2
outward with respect to the top surface of the base 5c. The
exterior walls 11a, 11b and the base 5c may form, for example, a
shelf 10. The interior 13 of the shelf 10 may store, may secure
and/or may contain the articles. The shelf 10 may be, for example,
a storage rack, a counter, a stand and/or the like. The shelf 10
may be removable, may be detachable and/or may be movable with
respect to the bases 5a, 5b. For example, the shelf 10 may be moved
with respect to the bases 5a, 5b via the groove 19 of the walls
11a, 11b of the base 5c. In an embodiment, the shelf 10 may be
positioned and/or may be attached to the exterior walls of the base
5a and/or the base 5b.
[0055] The exterior walls 11a, 11b of the base 5a may extend a
distance D3 from the top surface 7 to define the interior 13 of the
base 5a. In addition, the exterior walls 11c, 11d may extend from
the top surface 7 of the base 5a. The exterior walls 11a, 11b may
attach to, may secure to and/or may be integrally formed to the
exterior walls 11c, 11d. Interior walls 27a-27d may extend within
the interior 13 of the base 5a. The interior walls 27a-27d may
extend the distance D3 from the top surface 7 of the base 5a. In an
embodiment, the interior walls 27a-27d may be arranged and/or may
be positioned to form compartments 28a-28c. The interior walls
27a-27d may be removable and/or may be movable to define the
compartments 28a-28c within the interior 13 of the base 5a. The
compartments 28a-28c may be, for example, chambers, boxes, cells,
cubicles, nooks and/or the like. The present invention should not
be deemed as limited to a specific size, a specific shape and/or a
specific number of the compartments 28a-28c.
[0056] The top surface 7 of the base 5a may be sloped and/or may be
angled with respect to the exterior walls 11a-11d. For example, the
top surface 7 of the base 5a may be sloped and/or may be angled
from the first end 15 of the exterior wall 11a toward the second
end 17 of the exterior wall 11b. To this end, gravity may force
and/or may position the articles toward the first end 15 of the
exterior wall 11a.
[0057] In an embodiment, the interior walls 27a-27d may be movable,
may be removable, and/or may be detachable with respect to the top
surface 7 of the base 5a. Tracks 29a-29d may be formed in and/may
be attached to the exterior walls 11a-11d of the base 5a. The
tracks 29a-29d may be, for example, a crevice, an indentation, a
groove, an incision, a channel, a cut-out and/or the like. In
addition, the tracks 29a-29d may extend from the first end 15 to
the second end 17 of the exterior walls 11a-11d of the base 5a. The
interior walls 27a-27d may secure to and/or may removably attach to
the exterior walls 11a-11d via the tracks 29a-29d. To this end, the
tracks 29a-29d may be shaped and/or may be sized to receive and/or
to secure the interior walls 27a-27d.
[0058] The interior walls 27a-27d may be removed and/or may be
detached to form, for example, a tray, a shelf and/or the like. In
an embodiment, the interior walls 27a-27d may form the compartments
28a-28c on, for example, a portion of the top surface 7 and may be
removed from a remaining portion of the top surface 7. To this end,
the portion of the top surface 7 may form the compartments 28a-28c,
and the remaining portion of the top surface 7 may form, for
example, a tray, a shelf and/or the like. Articles may be placed on
and/or positioned on the top surface 7 of the base 5a. For example,
articles of smaller size may be located in and/or may be positioned
between the interior walls 27a-27d of the base 5a. Articles of
larger size may be positioned and/or may be located between the
exterior walls 11a, 11b.
[0059] In an embodiment, features of the bases 5a-5c may be
incorporated into one of the bases 5a-5c. To this end, one of the
bases 5a-5c may have the exterior walls 11a-11d and the interior
walls 27a-27d to form, for example, the compartments 28a-28c, the
drawer 12 and/or the shelf 10. The present invention should not be
deemed as limited to a specific number of and/or a specific
arrangement of the bases 5a-5c. Any number of the bases 5a-5c may
be incorporated into and/or attached to, for example, one of the
bases 5a-5c.
[0060] Mounts 31a, 31b may be attached to, may be connected to
and/or may be secured to the exterior walls 11a, 11b of the base 5a
and/or the bases 5b, 5c. The mounts 31a, 31b may extend from the
front edge 21 to the rear edge 23 of the exterior walls 11a, 11b.
The mounts 31a, 31b may connect to, may secure to and/or may
removably attach to a movable frame 33a, 33b, as illustrated in
FIG. 2, which may be, for example, a pipe, a post, an edge, a wall,
a ledge and/or the like. The movable frame 33a, 33b may be part of
