Claims

1. I claim my invention known as the "stair capper", will protect the exposed portion of the stair from 1. damage, due to denting or scratching, and 2. reduce the need for additional maintenance such as painting, varnishing or re-staining.
Description

[0001] The "stair capper" is a made from vinyl type or any rubberized type material that is firm, yet flexible so as to produce a cushion for the prevention of damage to the finish or to the actual stair itself. It can be made similar to a common "peel and stick" floor tile, where, the paper backing is removed and adhesive is applied to help set the unit firmly in place, and rendering it easy to trim, for a more exacting fit. The stair capper is made in such a way as to produce the folds necessary, to cover the three sides needing cover for protection and adherence. First the top part of the stair capper will cover the top portion of the stair, from a view looking down at the stair, the fold then is to cover both the underhang portion of the stair which is directly above the riser, and the edge of stair which is nearest the stair climber.

[0002] The stair capper will protect the need for additional painting or re-finishing maintenance, as it completely covers the exposed portion of the stair, also affording additional protection to the stair itself from damage of scratching or denting, or marring as the stair capper serves as a buffer cushion, helping to prevent the damage to the stair from occurring. Similar to vinyl type floor tiles, the stair capper can be made in a wide variety of colors and patterns suitable for each individuals desire for designs.
