BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] The invention relates to a garbage can, particularly one
that includes a cam body, a ring, a stationary cover, two movable
curved covers and a pressing device. By pressing down a pressing
body of the pressing device, an activating rod in the pressing
device enables the two movable curved cover to retreat to one side
and stay there stably, as an action of opening the opening of the
stationary cover. When the opening of the stationary cover is to be
closed, press again the pressing body to force the activating rod
to let the two movable curved covers to extend out to close the
opening of the stationary cover.
[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art
[0004] Conventional garbage cans usually have two types, having or
not having a cover. The one with a cover, being more sanitary, has
been improved preferably so that a can with pedal, as shown in FIG.
1, was invented. The can not only must keep its cover 10 bolted to
match just with a can body 1, but also has a complex structure
making assembly difficult. Moreover, because of numerous components
related to a pedal 11 forming a complex driving mechanism 12 and
the noise and an unsteady swinging of the can itself to cause
collision while opening the cover 1, it is uneasy for assembly and
inconvenient for use.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005] The prime object of this invention is to offer a garbage can
that is easier to open or close its movable curved covers on an
opening of a stationary cover and stands more steadily.
[0006] The main characteristics of the invention is that to open or
close the opening of the stationary cover is carried out by just
pressing down a pressing device, activating an activating rod to
force the two movable curved covers moving to open or close the
opening of the stationary cover.

plastic bag fixed with the ring edge 30. Next, press down the
pressing body 60 that is to activate the activating rod 601, being
supported by the supporter post 602 and the slide base 412, to move
upwards so as to let the activating groove 512 on the blade 51
rotate, dragging successively the stopping surface 514 on the
movable curved cover 51 to move to contact with the locking edge
501 on the movable curved cover 50 and go further aside till the
opening 40 is fully opened. By the moment, the locking member 416
and the locking member 604 lock with each other, keeping the
activating rod 601 motionless. Now it is ready for throwing garbage
in.
[0026] On the contrary, when the opening 40 of the stationary cover
4 is to be closed, just press down the pressing body 60 once again.
Then the locking member 416 will separate apart from the locking
member 604, so the pressing body 60 is lifted up by the spring 415
and the activating rod 601, being supported by the supporting post
602 and the slide base 412, moves downwards, making the activating
groove 512 on the movable curved cover 51 rotate, dragging
successively the locking edge 513 on the movable curved cover 51 to
keep the two movable curved covers 50, 51 close up the opening
40.
