Claims
1. A toilet bowl seat is comprised of a sitting part approximate in
the shape of an egg, an opening disposed in the center and multiple
supports on the back of the toilet bowl seat; a wing each extending
outwardly from both sides of the toilet bowl seat; and multiple
reinforcement ribs being provided and connected to those multiple
supports on the back of each wing.
2. The toilet bowl seat of claim 1, wherein, the width of the outer
side of each wing gradually reduced towards the front of the toilet
bowl seat to naturally connect the front end of the toilet bowl
seat for increasing the area of each wing.
3. The toilet bowl seat of claim 1 or claim 2, wherein, the outer
edge of each wing is made higher with the height generally reducing
towards the inner edge of the wing and towards the front of the
toilet bowl seat until it is at the same level with that of the
toilet bowl seat.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] (a) Technical Field of the Invention
[0002] The present invention is related to a toilet bowl seat, and
more particularly to one provided for an overweight user to enjoy
better sitting comforts.
[0003] (b) Description of the Prior Art
[0004] Referring to FIG. 1 of the accompanying drawings, a toilet
bowl seat of the prior art is generally made in the shape of an egg
11 containing an opening 12 at its center, and multiple supports
13. As illustrated in FIG. 2, the toilet bowl seat 11 is provided
for the user to sit on and to excrete his/her stool through the
opening 12 into a toilet bowl 2. The multiple supports 13 placed on
the back of the toilet bowl seat 11 rests on the toilet bowl 2. In
some designs, extra rubber padding 131 is attached to each support
13 to absorb noise or vibration upon placing the toilet bowl seat 1
on the top ridge of the toil bowl 2. Usually the upper part 21 of
the toilet bowl 2 is usually made in a given size and the size of
the toilet bowl seat 1 has to compromise that of the upper part 21
of the toilet bowl 2. Generally, the inner edge of the toilet bowl
seat 1 is made slightly retreated so as to reduce the space of the
opening 12 to make sure that the stool falls right into the center
of the toilet bowl 2 while making it usable for the user with a
smaller build including the children. The design of the prior art
described above for a toilet bowl with seat has been acceptable to
most of the people and generally meets the purpose of use.
[0005] However, more and more people are becoming overweight and
the toilet bowl seat 1 of the prior art is a discomfort to the
overweight person. As illustrated in FIG. 3, when an overweight
person sits on the seat, significant portions of his/her bottom and
thighs extend over the toilet bowl seat 11 resulting in
discomfort.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a
toilet bowl seat that gives better sitting comforts for an
overweight person. To achieve this purpose, a wing respectively
extends from both sides of the toilet bowl seat to support the
portions of the bottom and both thighs, thus overextending the size
of a normal toilet bowl seat.
[0007] Another purpose of the present invention is to provide a
toilet bowl seat having the outer edges of two wings respectively
extending from both sides of the toilet bowl seat made slightly
higher and gradually reducing its height toward the inner edge of
the wing. Meanwhile, the height is also reduced towards the front
of the toilet bowl seat until it is at the same level with the
sitting part to confine the bottom of the user to more meet
ergonomic requirements.
[0008] Another purpose yet of the present invention is to provide a
toilet seat with increased area of both wings extending each from
both sides of the seat so to support both thighs of the user for
more comforts. To achieve the purpose, the width of the outer side
of each wing is gradually reducing towards the front of the sitting
part to naturally connect the distal side of the sitting part.
[0009] The foregoing object and summary provide only a brief
introduction to the present invention. To fully appreciate these
and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention
itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the
art, the following detailed description of the invention and the
claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying
drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical
reference numerals refer to identical or similar parts.
[0010] Many other advantages and features of the present invention
will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making
reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets
of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment
incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by
way of illustrative example.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0011] FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a toilet bowl seat of
the prior art.
[0012] FIG. 2 is a schematic view showing the use of the prior
art.
[0013] FIG. 3 is another schematic view showing the use of the
prior art.
[0014] FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the present invention.
[0015] FIG. 5 is schematic view showing the use of the present
invention.
[0016] FIG. 6 is a schematic view of a preferred embodiment of the
present invention.
[0017] FIG. 7 is a schematic view of another preferred embodiment
of the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0018] The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments
only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or
configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following
description provides a convenient illustration for implementing
exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the
described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement
of the elements described without departing from the scope of the
invention as set forth in the appended claims.
[0019] Referring to FIG. 4, the present invention is related to an
improved toilet seat. Wherein, a toilet seat 3 is essentially
comprised of a seat 31 in the shape of an egg; an opening 32 at the
center of the toilet seat 31, and multiple supports on the back of
the toilet seat 31. A wing 311 is outwardly extended from both
sides of the toilet seat 31. Multiple reinforcement ribs 312 are
provided on the back of each wing 311 which is alternatively
connected to one another into a grill configuration. Certain parts
of those reinforcement ribs 312 are connected to and integrated
with those supports 33 to further improve the strength of both
wings 311.
[0020] As illustrated in FIG. 5, an overweight user may sit on a
toilet bowl seat 31 with both wings 312 and enjoy more comfort
since most of the bottom of the user rests on the seat and both
wings.
[0021] Now referring to FIG. 6, an outer edge 313 of each wing 311
is made higher with the height gradually reducing to an inner edge
314 of the wing 311 while also gradually reducing to the front of
the toilet bowl seat 31 until it is at the same level with that of
the toilet bowl seat 31 to confine the bottom of the user for more
ergonomic requirements.
[0022] Furthermore, as illustrated in FIG. 7, the width of the
outer side of the wing 311 is made reducing towards the front of
the toilet bowl seat 31 to naturally connect the front of the
toilet bowl seat 31 thus to increase the area of the wing 311 for
both wings 311 to sufficiently support both thighs of the user,
thus for the user to feel even more comfortable when sitting on the
toilet bowl seat.
[0023] It will be understood that each of the elements described
above, or two or more together may also find a useful application
in other types of methods differing from the type described
above.
[0024] While certain novel features of this invention have been
shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is
not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be
understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and
changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in
its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without
departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
