Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] The present invention is related to a cooling fan with
luminous device and particularly to a cooling fan, which is
provided with a luminous member.
[0003] 2. Brief Description of the Related Art
[0004] Due to the computer being getting progress and operational
speed thereof being getting faster, the temperature thereof is
getting higher. In order to solve the problem of higher
temperature, the fan is most popularly used to occur convection for
the cool air carrying the hot air outward so that the computer can
run with an appropriate temperature.
[0005] In order to allow the fan being attractable in addition to
the function of removing heat, how to make the appearance thereof
change to appeal the user is subject worth to care. It is incapable
of changing the basic configuration of the fan because the function
and use may be influenced. An luminous member is considered to add
to the fan for stimulating the vision of the user to create
purchase desire.
[0006] Taiwanese Patent Official gazette No. 520149 discloses a
luminous cooling fan, which includes a fan base, a fan blade set
and several light emitting diodes. The fan blade set is
rotationally attached to a support frame of the fan base such that
the cooling fan allows air to generate convection. The fan blade
set is made of fluorescent material to provide effect of emitting
fluorescent light at night. Further, the fan base provides
equidistantly spaced slots at the periphery for being inserted with
a light emitting diode (LED) respectively and the respective LED is
electrically connected to a print circuit board and with a lead
wire in series. Meanwhile, the print circuit board is connected to
the fan blade set with a lead wire too such that the respective LED
can be light up during the fan blade set rotating. The light
emitted from the respective LED in the slots can refract in
addition to the fluorescent light to produce a novel visional
effect with radiation light combining the fluorescent light.
[0007] The preceding prior art has a hazard problem that the anode
and the cathode of the respective LED easily touch to each other
resulting from vibration during the fan rotating due to well
separation of the anode from the cathode not being implemented and
it is easy to occur phenomenon of short circuit. More seriously, it
is very possible to cause damage of the fan and, even more, the
computer will be shut down because of temperature rise.
[0008] Taiwanese Patent Official gazette No. 539169 discloses
another luminous cooling fan, which includes a shaft at a frame of
the fan providing a base, a circuit board attached to the base, a
stator provided on the circuit board and a fan blade set joined to
the stator. The inner wall of the frame has one or more mounting
holes and a LED is received in the mounting holes respectively. The
LED is powered on synchronously with the fan by a driving circuit
on the circuit board or can be driven by an external control
circuit. The LED emits light toward blades of the fan blade set and
frame is made of colored plastics or transparent plastics such that
colorful dynamic light can be generated during the fan blade set
rotating.
[0009] Similarly, the anode and the cathode of the LED are not well
separated such that it is unavoidable to cause the phenomenon of
short circuit and it can result in damage of the fan and even the
other electric parts are hazardously affected.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0010] An object of the present invention is to provide a cooling
fan with luminous device in which the fan frame thereof has a
recess part to receive a luminous member and a fixing part
separates the anode end from the cathode end to avoid the anode end
and the cathode end accidentally touching to each other and
occurring short circuit.
[0011] Another object of the present invention is to provide a
cooling fan with luminous device with which the entire fan can
generate visional effect with light refraction or reflection
because of luminous members.

[0018] FIG. 6 is a sectional view of the preferred embodiment of a
cooling fan with luminous device according to the present
invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0019] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, the preferred embodiment of a
cooling fan with luminous device according to the present invention
comprises a fan frame 11, a circuit board 12, a blade wheel 13 and
at least a luminous member 14. The blade wheel 13, which can be
made of non-transparent material, transparent material, translucent
material or reflective material, includes a hub 131 and a plurality
of fan blades 132 extending outward from the hub 131. The fan frame
11, which can be made of transparent or translucent material,
provides a central flow passage communicating with a first hollow
opening 111 and a second hollow opening 112 at two lateral sides
thereof for fluid flowing through. A hub seat 114, which is
connected to a support part 113, is disposed in the flow passage
and the hub seat 114 is movably attached with the blade wheel 13. A
fixing part 15 is provided at four corners of the fan frame 11
respectively and the fixing part 15 has a lower through hole 152 at
both sides thereof respectively. Further, a recess part 151 is
formed between the first hollow opening 111 and the second hollow
opening 112 to fixedly attach with the luminous member 14. A fixing
cap 16 has a hook engaging part 161 to engage with the recess part
151 and the luminous member 14 is secured between the recess part
151 and the fixing cap 16. A circuit board 12 is attached to the
hub seat 114 under the blade wheel 13 to drive the blade wheel 13
and light up the luminous member 14.
[0020] The recess part 151 provides a through hole penetrating the
fan frame 11 with a receiving part 1511 capable of being hooked by
the hook engaging part 161 of the fixing cap 16. The luminous
member 14 is a light emitting diode (LED) with an anode end 141 and
a cathode end 142 and the luminous member 14 is fixed to the recess
part 151 in a way of the top end 143 thereof toward the center of
the fan frame 11. The anode end 141 and the cathode 142 pass
through the receiving part 1511 to be spaced with the fixing part
15 so that the anode end 141 and the cathode end 142 are oppositely
disposed at both sides of the fixing part 15 to prevent from
accidentally touching to each other. The circuit board 12
externally connects with the power supply line 121 and the power
supply line 121 extends along the support part 113 and passes
through the through hole 152 to connect with the anode end 141 and
the cathode end 142 for supplying power needed by the luminous
member 14.
[0021] Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, when the circuit board 12
actuates the blade wheel 13 to rotate in the fan frame 11, fluid is
dragged to pass through the first hollow opening 111 and the second
hollow opening 112 such that the fluid occur a phenomenon of
convection to perform heat dissipation. Meanwhile, the circuit
board 12 provides power to the anode end 141 and the cathode end
142 of the luminous member 14 via the power supply line 121 such
that the luminous member 14 can produce light to penetrate
transparent or translucent fan frame 11 so as to obtain a visual
effect with lighting. Further, the light refracts and reflects
during the blade wheel 13 rotating because of the blade wheel 13
being made of transparent, translucent or reflective material such
that single light source can generate multiple light points to
result in a visual effect of the entire fan frame 11 and the blade
wheel 13 being brilliant. In addition, the anode end 141 and the
cathode end 142 being spaced by the fixing part 14 can prevent the
anode 141 and the cathode 142 from accidentally touching to each
other and occurring short circuit.
[0022] While the invention has been described with referencing to
preferred embodiments thereof, it is to be understood that
modifications or variations may be easily made without departing
from the spirit of this invention, which is defined by the appended
claims.
