Claims

1. What I claim as my invention is the X-trz food tray insert which can be used in conjunction with carry out food trays. The X-trz is generally practical for use when more food is ordered for carryout orders than your typical carryout trays will hold. The X-trz is designed to dock on top of the carry out tray with the lid of the carry out tray closing down over the X-trz while transporting food. The X-trz can be removed and used as a serving tray also.
Description

[0001] Concept: The X-trz food tray is what I claim as my invention. The concept came to fruition when I, Tyrek Gasque noticed that while packaging dinners for my church fund raiser that many times people wanted extra food or that there was more food to put in a three compartment tray than it could hold. This problem would cause us to have to either use a cup or a tray for the other one or two sides, which seemed slightly unprofessional. So I began to wonder why the upper space in the foam food tray wasn't utilized and how it seemed like a waste of space to me, that is how I came up with the design for the X-trz food tray.

[0002] Design: The X-trz food tray insert is designed so that it sets in between the upper and lower part of the covered foam food tray, the tray itself is raised and fills the inside top of the covered food tray utilizing that otherwise empty space. The tray will have a left and right side marked by arrows pressed into the foam tray when molded as to indicate how the insert should rest on left and right sides of the bottom part of the covered food tray as opposed to the front and back. Also the base of the X-trz's food holding parts should not come no more than three quarters of the way to the outer base of the insert itself to allow space for food in the bottoms part of the covered food tray.

[0003] Uniqueness: The benefit and uniqueness of the X-trz food tray is that it will make an already widely used product more useful, it will also cut back on waste in landfills for every covered container that is not used. The X-trz food tray also will cut cost by reducing the number of food trays that are used for extra portions in food service. Finally it allows for neat packing of food by avoiding the piling of two or three types of food in one compartment which some people have a dislike for.

[0004] The X-trz food tray insert is a product designed by Tyrek Gasque of Richmond Va., 804-439-5656, A single man, The Pastor of Shekinah Temple Church, Father of one child, Tyreshia Jewel Gasque.
