Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] The present invention relates to a metal tile for interior
and exterior decoration for a building, and more particularly, to a
metal tile for interior and exterior decoration for a building,
which can be attached and constructed on the walls or bottoms of
the building simply and firmly using mortar.
[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art
[0004] In general, tiles which are attached and constructed on the
inner or outer walls of buildings are ceramic tiles most of which
are fabricated by mixing and molding pulverulent bodies made of
natural clays, ores or synthetic inorganic materials and sintering
the molded pulverulent bodies at a high temperature. The ceramic
tiles are attached and constructed on the walls or bottoms of the
building using mortar where cement, sand and water has been
mixed.
[0005] Since these ceramic tiles have an excellent bonding strength
with mortar in view of the features of the materials, respectively,
they have merits that they can be attached and constructed on the
walls or bottoms of the building conveniently.
[0006] By the way, since the ceramic tiles have a weak
impact-resistant capability in view of the features of the
materials, respectively, they can be easily broken even in the case
of an external small impact. Accordingly, a considerably high
carefulness is required in handling the ceramic tiles. Further, it
is difficult to represent a variety of patterns in view of the
feature of the fabrication of the ceramic tiles.
[0007] Meanwhile, an example of solving the above-described
defects, metal tiles made of metal such as aluminum or stainless
steel are provided.
[0008] In the case of the metal tiles, it is possible to allow a
unique representation for a particular quality of color or texture
on the surfaces of the metal tiles. Also, a variety of patterns and
polishes can be represented on the surfaces of the metal tiles, in
various methods such as porcelain enamel treatment, pulverulent
coating, or scratch processing. Accordingly, the metal tiles have a
high durability, an easy working efficiency, an easy cleaning, a
small error in standard, and little possibility of damage.
[0009] However, since the metal tiles are of a weak bonding
strength with mortar in view of the feature of the quality of the
material, they should be attached and constructed by using
adhesives or screws on the walls of a completely dried building. As
a result, the conventional metal tiles cause much time and cost of
constructing metal tiles to be consumed.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0010] To solve the above problems, it is an object of the present
invention to provide a metal tile for interior and exterior
decoration for a building which can be attached and constructed on
the walls or bottoms of the building simply and firmly using
mortar, to then make the states of the metal tiles attached and
constructed on the walls or bottoms of the building stably
maintained after construction of the metal tiles.
[0011] To accomplish the above object of the present invention,
there is provided a metal tile for interior and exterior decoration
for a building which can be attached and constructed on the walls
or bottoms of the building, the metal tile comprising: at least one
boding groove on the rear surface of the metal tile; and a gypsum
board or sheet which is formed by filling a batter of gypsum having
an excellent bonding strength with metal and mortar into the
bonding groove and drying the filled batter of gypsum.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0012] The above and other objects and advantages of the present
invention will become more apparent by describing the preferred
embodiment thereof in more detail with reference to the
accompanying drawings in which:
[0013] FIGS. 1A and 1B are a perspective view showing a metal tile
for interior and exterior decoration for a building according to an
embodiment of the present invention, respectively.
[0014] FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view showing a metal tile for
interior and exterior decoration for a building according to the
present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0015] A metal tile according to a preferred embodiment of the
present invention will be described with reference to the
accompanying drawings.
[0016] As shown in FIGS. 1A, 1B, and 2, a metal tile 100 according
to the present invention can be used for interior and exterior
decoration for a building. That is, the metal tiles 100 according
to the present invention can be attached and constructed on the
walls or bottoms 300 of the building. Here, the metal tile 100
includes at least one boding groove 110 on the rear surface of the
metal tile 100, at the time of performing a forming work such as a
molding or pressing work, and a gypsum board or sheet 120 which is
formed by filling a batter of gypsum having an excellent bonding
strength with metal and mortar 200 into the bonding groove 110 and
drying the filled batter of gypsum.
[0017] A pattern portion 101 is formed on the front surface of the
metal tile 100 so as to be appropriately adapted to an interior
purpose. A scratch portion 102 of a net shape is formed on the rear
surface of the metal tile 100 in order to improve a bonding
strength with mortar 200.
[0018] Also, as being the cases, when the at least one bonding
groove 110 is formed in the metal tile 100, at least one fixing
protrusion 130 is formed on the bottom of the bonding groove 110.
Accordingly, a gypsum board or sheet 120 which is formed by filling
a batter of gypsum having an excellent bonding strength with metal
and mortar 200 into the bonding groove 110 and drying the filled
batter of gypsum can be more firmly fixed to and bonded with the
bonding groove 110.
[0019] Also, as being the cases, a stop groove 111 is formed on the
inner side wall of the bonding groove 110 of the metal tile 100.
Accordingly, a gypsum board or sheet 120 which is formed by filling
a batter of gypsum into the bonding groove 110 and drying the
filled batter of gypsum can be more firmly fixed to and bonded with
the bonding groove 110.
[0020] Also, it is preferable that the fixing protrusion 130 formed
in the bonding groove 110 of the metal tile 100 is formed in the
same height as that of the rear surface of the metal tile 100. As
being the cases, the fixing protrusion 130 is formed in the height
higher than that of the rear surface of the metal tile 100 so that
the fixing protrusion 130 can be buried into the mortar 200.
[0021] The function of the metal tile 100 for interior and exterior
decoration for a building having the above-described configuration
will follow.
[0022] In the case that a metal tile 100 for interior and exterior
decoration for a building according to the present invention is
attached and constructed on the wall or bottom of the building,
mortar 200 where cement, sand and water has been mixed is pasted on
the rear surface of the metal tile 100. Then, the metal tile 100 is
affixed on the wall 300 or bottom of the building, with the mortar
200 pasted on the metal tile 100 facing the wall 300 or bottom of
the building. Accordingly, the metal tile 100 is completely
attached and constructed on the wall 300 or bottom of the
building.
[0023] Here, a solid-state gypsum board or sheet 120 filled in the
bonding groove 110 of the metal tile 100 absorbs moisture of the
mortar 200, and is attached to the mortar 200. As well, the mortar
200 is attached on the wall 300 or bottom of the building made of
concrete. Thereafter, the mortar 200 is dried and thus the metal
tile 100 is firmly bonded on the wall 300 or bottom of the
building.
[0024] As described above, the metal tile for interior and exterior
decoration for a building according to the present invention
includes a gypsum board or sheet made of gypsum having a high
bonding strength with respect to metal and mortar and formed on the
rear surface of the metal tile. Accordingly, the metal tile can be
conveniently and firmly attached and constructed using the mortar
on the wall or bottom of the building which is completely dried or
not. As a result, a working convenience and a construction accuracy
of the metal tile can be enhanced.
[0025] As described above, the present invention has been described
with respect to a particularly preferred embodiment. However, the
present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and it is
possible for one who has an ordinary skill in the art to make
various modifications and variations, without departing off the
spirit of the present invention.
