Treadmill for skiing-like exercise
Abstract
A treadmill has a housing covering from above a base, a front
supporting rod of the base has a central supporting column
connecting a left and a right linkage in a symmetrical way; each
linkage has a peddle, its front end connects a linking member, the
two linkages are connected at angular positions but being connected
pivotally to the two lateral sides of the supporting column; each
peddle is connected on its rear end with a buffer which is
connected to the front supporting rod to brace up the peddle, and
to form impedance force; a left and aright ski stick each is
fixedly connected with a peddle, a supporting rack is connected
with the supporting column and is mounted thereon a wheel to limit
moving of a flexible member of which two ends are respectively
connected with the left and the right linking members, in order
that the peddles can move up and down in inclined positions. A user
can thus allow two hands to control the actions of pushing and
pressing with the ski sticks to do treading exercise in a crossed
way and in an inclining mode as if the user is skiing; the object
of doing plastic art on a waist, a hip and a thigh etc. can thus be
attained.

Claims
1. A treadmill for skiing-like exercise comprising: a base, a
housing, a left and a right linkage, a left and a right ski stick
and a supporting rack, wherein said base includes a front and a
rear supporting rod, said front supporting rod has a central
supporting column; said housing covers from above said base; said
left and right linkages are arranged symmetrically at two lateral
sides of said supporting column; each of said linkages has a
peddle, a front end thereof is connected with a linking member,
said two linkages are connected at angular positions but being
connected pivotally to said two lateral sides of said supporting
column; each of said peddles is connected on a rear end thereof
with a buffer, a front end of said buffer is connected to said
front supporting rod to brace up said peddle, and to form impedance
force; said left and right ski sticks each has a fixed rod and
holding rod mutually pivotally connected, said two fixed rods are
respectively connected with one and the other sides of said left
and right peddles; said supporting rack is connected with said
supporting column of said base, and is mounted thereon a wheel
connecting on its periphery with a flexible member, two ends of
said flexible member are respectively connected with said left and
right linking members, in order that said left and right peddles
move up and down in inclined positions; thereby two hands of a user
are allowed to respectively control actions of pushing and pressing
with said left and right ski sticks to do treading exercise in a
crossed way and in an inclining mode as if said user is skiing.
2. The treadmill for skiing-like exercise as in claim 1, wherein
said supporting column of said base is provided with a through
hole, one end of said supporting rack has a protruding portion for
inserting into said through hole of said supporting column for
connection.
3. The treadmill for skiing-like exercise as in claim 1, wherein
said treadmill further comprises an adjustment screw having a screw
rod on one end thereof, an inner thread is provided at a front end
of said through hole for screw connecting, said screw rod pushes
said protruding portion coaxial therewith of said supporting rack,
this links up with said supporting rack, said wheel and said
flexible member to allow height adjustment of said left and right
peddles.
4. The treadmill for skiing-like exercise as in claim 1, wherein
said front and rear supporting rods of said base has therebetween a
connecting rod to form a shape of "H".
5. The treadmill for skiing-like exercise as in claim 1, wherein
said supporting column is provided on two lateral sides thereof
with bearing pieces respectively inclined downwards, said bearing
pieces are connected respectively on their bottoms with two bracing
rods that are coaxially connected respectively to said two linking
members to allow rotation of said linking members.
6. The treadmill for skiing-like exercise as in claim 1, wherein
each of said peddles is connected on its bottom with an elongate
engaging block; an end of each of said engaging blocks is
integrally connected to one of said linking members.
7. The treadmill for skiing-like exercise as in claim 1, wherein
said linking members on front ends of said peddles are straight
rods and are provided with radially protruding sheets respectively
connected with two ends of said flexible member.
8. The treadmill for skiing-like exercise as in claim 1, wherein
said supporting column is provided on its top with a display.
9. The treadmill for skiing-like exercise as in claim 1, wherein
each of said peddles is provided on the bottom of its rear end with
a fixed post to fix an end of one of said buffers and one of said
fixed rods of one of said ski sticks.
10. The treadmill for skiing-like exercise as in claim 1, wherein
said fixed rods of said ski sticks are both in a shape of "L" which
each has an end of a transverse section connected to one of said
fixed posts of one of said peddle, and which each has an upright
section having a universal joint and a reduced pipe; said reduced
pipe has a snap engaging member, said holding rod is provided on
its bottom with an engaging hole to receive said snap engaging
member on said reduced pipe, thereby said fixed rod is adapted to
connecting with said holding rod.
11. The treadmill for skiing-like exercise as in claim 1, wherein
said housing includes a front housing portion and a rear housing
portion; said front housing portion has a recess having therein a
through hole for extending therethrough of a screw rod of an
adjustment screw.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] The present invention is related to a treadmill for
skiing-like exercise, and especially to such a treadmill for
skiing-like exercise which is provided on its base with a
supporting column, and is provided on two lateral sides thereof
with a left and a right linkage respectively; each linkage has a
peddle of which one side is connected with a ski stick, each peddle
is connected on its front end with a linking member pivotally
connected to one side of the supporting column and controlled by a
movable flexible member. The rear end of each peddle is connected
with an up-bracing buffer to form impedance force to render a user
to do treading exercise in a crossed way and in an inclining mode
as if the user is skiing; the treadmill is suitable for plastic art
on a waist, a hip and a thigh etc.
[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art
[0004] In the present society, people mostly are busy at their own
businesses and works, their paces are quite fast, relatively, they
leave very little time for them to do exercises outdoors; however,
people are unable to fight in their vocational fields with long
last if they do not have healthy bodies. In order to render people
to also get the effect of exercising for attaining health indoors,
various types of gymnastic instruments have been being
developed.
[0005] Indoor gymnastic instruments available presently are
variant, they include, for example, treadmills, indoor exercise
bikes and tread exercising machines exercising frontwards and
rearwards or leftwards and rightwards. The abovementioned indoor
gymnastic instruments can render users to get the effect of
exercising for attaining health, but they mostly are products
individually with only a single function, and can only be used to
exercise a part of a body, this inevitably misses some parts
untreated in plastic works; and in use of the abovementioned indoor
gymnastic instruments, the instruments are mostly for exercises
with two feet of a man moving parallelly, there is no effect of
exercise with two feet twisting in a crossed way. Therefore, they
are unable to make plastic exercise on the muscles on the inner
sides of thighs.
[0006] In view of the above defects to be solved, and for the
purpose that a treadmill for skiing-like exercise can do treading
exercise in a crossed way and in an inclining mode as is in skiing
to thereby be suitable for plastic art on a waist, a hip and a
thigh etc., the present invention is developed after nonstop
studying and improvement based on professional experience of years
of the inventor.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0007] The primary object of the present invention is to provide a
treadmill for skiing-like exercise of which a supporting column is
provided on two lateral sides thereof with two linkages connected
at angular positions but being connected pivotally; the two
linkages are connected respectively to two ends of a flexible
member, so that a user can do treading exercise in a crossed way
and in an inclining mode.
[0008] The secondary object of the present invention is to provide
a treadmill for skiing-like exercise of which two peddles are
connected respectively to two ski sticks able to rotate in many
directions, in order to cooperate with the two peddles to do
treading exercise in a crossed way and in an inclining mode, thus a
treading exercise as in skiing can be created.
[0009] Another object of the present invention is to provide a
treadmill for skiing-like exercise of which two rear ends of the
peddles are connected with an up-bracing buffer to form impedance
force to increase the effect of exercise.
[0010] A further object of the present invention is to provide a
treadmill for skiing-like exercise of which a supporting rack can
be linked up with a wheel and the flexible member by operation of
an adjustment structure, thereby the heights of the left and the
right peddles can be adjusted to render a user to adjust his amount
of exercising.
[0011] To achieve the above stated objects, a treadmill for
skiing-like exercise of the present invention includes a base, a
housing, a left and a right linkage, a left and a right ski stick
and a supporting rack. Wherein the base includes a front and a rear
supporting rod, the front supporting rod has a central supporting
column; the housing covers from above the base, the left and the
right linkages are arranged symmetrically at the two lateral sides
of the supporting column; each linkage has a peddle, its front end
is connected with a linking member of which one side is connected
with a ski stick, the two linkages are connected at angular
positions but being connected pivotally to the two lateral sides of
the supporting column; each peddle is connected on its rear end
with a buffer, the other end of the buffer is connected to the
front supporting rod to brace up the peddle, and to form impedance
force; the left and the right ski sticks each has a fixed rod and
holding rod mutually pivotally connected; the two fixed rods are
respectively connected with one and the other sides of the left and
the right peddles; the supporting rack is connected with the
supporting column of the base, and is mounted thereon a wheel
connecting on its periphery with a flexible member; two ends of the
flexible member are respectively connected with the left and the
right linking members, in order that the left and the right peddles
can move up and down in inclined positions.
[0012] Thereby, a user can allow two hands to respectively control
the actions of pushing and pressing with the left and the right ski
sticks to do treading exercise in a crossed way and in an inclining
mode as if the user is skiing; the object of doing plastic art on a
waist, a hip and a thigh etc. can thus be attained.
[0013] The present invention will be apparent after reading the
detailed description of the preferred embodiment thereof in
reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0022] Referring firstly to FIGS. 1, 2, the treadmill for
skiing-like exercise of the present invention is comprised of a
base 2, a left and a right linkage 3, 3', a left and a right ski
stick 4, 4', a supporting rack 5 and a housing 6.
[0023] Referring to FIGS. 1-3, the base 2 is in the shape of "H",
and includes a front supporting rod 21, a rear supporting rod 22
and a connecting rod 23; two ends of the connecting rod 23 are
respectively connected with the central areas of the front
supporting rod 21 and the rear supporting rod 22. The central area
of the front supporting rod 21 is provided with a square central
supporting column 24 having therein a through hole 241 extending
from its front side to its rear side; the front end of the through
hole 241 is provided with an inner thread 242. The central
supporting column 24 is provided on its top with a display 25 to
display the distance of treading and the amount of heat consumed
etc. during exercising of a user. The central supporting column 24
is provided further on two lateral sides with bearing pieces 26,
26' respectively inclined downwards, the bearing pieces 26, 26' are
connected respectively on their bottoms with bracing rods 27,
27'.
[0024] The left and the right linkages 3, 3' are symmetrically
provided on the two lateral sides of the central supporting column
24, the linkages 3, 3' each has a peddle 31 (31') which is
connected on its bottom with an elongate engaging block 32 (32');
the front end of the engaging block 32 (32') is connected to a
linking member 33 (33') in the shape of a straight rod and able to
be coaxially connected to the bracing rod 27 (27'). The two linking
members 33, 33' are symmetrically provided in inclined positions
respectively on the two lateral sides of the central supporting
column 24 to allow rotation of the two linking members 33, 33'. The
linking member 33 (33') is provided with a radially protruding
sheet 34 (34'). The engaging block 32 (32') is provided on the
bottom of its rear end with an elongate fixed post 35 (35') to
connect to an end of a buffer 36 (36'); the other end of the buffer
36 (36') is connected to the front supporting rod 21 to brace up
the peddle 31 (31') for forming a resistant force against
treading.
[0025] The left and the right ski sticks 4, 4' are provided
respectively with fixed rods 41, 41' and holding rods 42, 42', the
fixed rods 41, 41' are both in the shape of "L" which each has an
end of a transverse section connected to the fixed post 35 (35') of
the peddle 31 (31'), and which each has an upright section having a
universal joint 43 (43') and a reduced pipe 44 (44'); the reduced
pipe 44 (44') has a snap engaging member 45 (45'), the holding rod
42 (42') is provided on its bottom with an engaging hole 46 (46')
to receive the snap engaging member 45 (45') on the reduced pipe 44
(44'), thereby the fixed rod 41 (41') can be connected with the
holding rod 42 (42').
[0026] The supporting rack 5 is a frame-like member having on one
end thereof a cylindrical protruding portion 51 that can be
inserted into the through hole 241 of the central supporting column
24 of the base 2 for connection. The upper and the lower ends of
the supporting rack 5 are provided with positioning holes 52 for
mounting thereon a wheel 53 connecting on its periphery with a
flexible member 54; two ends of the flexible member 54 are
respectively connected with the two the protruding sheet 34, 34' of
the left and the right linking members 33, 33'.
[0027] The housing 6 covers from above the base 2, and includes a
front housing portion 61 and a rear housing portion 62; the front
housing portion 61 has a round recess 63 having therein a through
hole 64 for extending therethrough of a screw rod 71 of an
adjustment screw 7 to connect with the inner thread 242 at the
front end of the through hole 241 of the central supporting column
24.
[0028] Referring to FIGS. 4, 5, by virtue that the screw rod 71 of
the adjustment screw 7 is coaxial with the protruding portion 51 of
the supporting rack 5, when in rotating the adjustment screw 7, the
screw rod 71 can be forwarded or retracted to push the protruding
portion 51 of the supporting rack 5, this can link up with the
supporting rack 5, the wheel 53 and the flexible member 54. By the
fact that the two ends of the flexible member 54 are respectively
connected with the two the protruding sheet 34, 34' of the left and
the right linking members 33, 33', rotation of the two linking
members 33, 33' can allow height adjustment of the left and the
right peddles 31, 31'.
[0029] Referring to FIGS. 2, 6, when the user treads on the right
peddles 31, the rear end of the right peddle 31 is pressed down,
the engaging block 32 beneath the right peddles 31 and the right
linking member 33 rotate counterclockwise about the bracing rod 27
(as an axle) to pull one end of the flexible member 54 to move
counterclockwise; meantime, the other end of the flexible member 54
links up with the left linking member 33', so that the rear end of
the left peddle 31' moves upwardly (as shown in FIG. 7).
[0030] When the user treads on the left peddles 31', its linking
function goes in a contrary direction to that stated above, thereby
the left and the right peddles 31, 31' can move up and down in
inclined positions respectively. And the user can allow two hands
to respectively control the actions of pushing and pressing on the
left and the right ski sticks 4, 4' to do treading exercise in a
crossed way and in an inclining mode as if the user is skiing in
different directions respectively; the object of doing plastic art
on a waist, a hip and a thigh etc. can thus be attained.
[0031] Accordingly, the present invention has the following
advantages: [0032] 1. The present invention allows a user to do
treading exercise in a crossed way and in an inclining mode; this
allows plastic art on a waist, a hip and a thigh etc. of the user.
[0033] 2. The present invention allows two peddles to move
directions in a crossed way and in an inclining mode by using ski
sticks rotatable in multiple; this can allow treading exercise as
if the user is skiing, and can increase the effect of exercise and
fin of using. [0034] 3. The rear ends of the peddles of the present
invention are connected respectively with buffers that not only can
brace the weight of the user, but also can form impedance force
against treading to increase the effect of exercise. [0035] 4. The
present invention can adjust the height of the peddles in pursuance
of the requirement of the user to provide different effects of
exercising in use.
[0036] In conclusion, according to the content disclosed above, the
present invention can get the expected object thereof to provide a
treadmill for skiing-like exercise that renders a user to do
treading exercise in a crossed way and in an inclining mode as if
the user is skiing; the treadmill is suitable for plastic art on a
waist, a hip and a thigh etc.
