Description
BACKGROUND
[0001] There is a need for a sport shirt that can store devices
normally carried by active individuals during physical
training.
[0002] The inventor of this invention realized the above need when
he was taking a morning run. During the run he realized how
uncomfortable it was to carry his portable music device, keys, and
cellular phone. Upon returning to his home he decided to design a
sport shirt that would maximize his comfort level during his runs.
He realized that the shirt would have to be made of a stretchy
material that would hold any devices carried by him snug to his
body. He also realized that the shirt should have safety features
that would be visible to third parties.
[0003] The safety features would be essential to individuals
wearing the sport shirt. It is important to realize that many
individuals carrying portable music devices are oblivious to the
dangers facing them when exercising outdoors.
[0004] It is an object of this invention to provide a sport shirt
for active individuals that will store portable devices while
exercising.
[0005] It is a further object of this invention to provide a sport
shirt for active individuals with inherent safety features.
[0006] For the foregoing reasons, there is a need for a sport shirt
that will carry portable devices while providing the user with
safety features.
SUMMARY
[0007] The present invention is directed to a sport shirt that will
store portable devices snug to an individual's body during the
individual's exercise routines. The sport shirt comprises of a
shirt that is made of a stretchy material, at least one compartment
made of a stretchy material that is attached to the shirt, and at
least one safety reflector that is attached to the shirt. The sport
shirt may have up to three compartments, but the essential
compartment is a compartment that is centrally located on the front
or back of the shirt that would be used to house a portable music
device. The reflector would be placed on the side of the shirt not
having the compartment.
[0008] An advantage of this invention is that it provides active
individuals with a sport shirt that will store portable devices
during exercise routines.
[0009] A further advantage of this invention is that it provides
active individuals with a sport shirt that has inherent safety
features.
DRAWINGS
[0010] These and other features, aspects, and advantages of the
present invention will become better understood with regard to the
following description, appended claims, and drawings where:
[0011] FIG. 1a shows a front view of an embodiment of a sport
shirt;
[0012] FIG. 1b shows a rear view of the sport shirt of FIG. 1a;
[0013] FIG. 2a shows a rear view of another embodiment of a sport
shirt;
[0014] FIG. 2b shows a front view of the sport shirt of FIG.
2b;
[0015] FIG. 3a shows a front view of a further embodiment of the
sport shirt; and
[0016] FIG. 3b shows a rear view of the sport shirt of FIG. 3a.
DESCRIPTION
[0017] As seen in FIG. 1a-b, a sport shirt comprises of a shirt 10
that is made of a stretchy material, a compartment 12 made of a
stretchy material that is centrally attached to the front of the
shirt 10, and at least one safety reflector 16 that is attached to
the rear of the shirt 10. The shirt and the compartment's material
will stretch sufficiently to house a portable device so that the
device remains snug to the user's body. Materials that will stretch
to the inventions requirements are known in the art. The reflector
16 would be placed on the side of the shirt 10 not having the
compartment 12. The compartment 10 may have a means for closing 12a
the compartment 12. The compartment 12 may further define an
opening 13 that allows an earphone chord to be connected to a
portable device housed within the compartment.
[0018] The means for closing 12a the compartment 12 can be a
zipper, a pocket fold, a button flap combination, or a hook and
loop system of attachment.
[0019] The compartment 12 ideally would be circular in shape but
could also be rectangular. The circular compartment shape would be
ideal for storing portable CD players.
[0020] The reflector 16 would be attached to the shirt 10 in a
position that would be centered between the sleeves of the shirt
10.
[0021] The embodiment of FIG. 1a-b, can further comprise of a pair
of sleeve reflectors 14 attached to the end of the sleeves of the
shirt 10. The sleeve reflectors 14 are an added safety feature of
the shirt 10.
[0022] FIG. 2a-b show another embodiment of the current invention.
The embodiment of FIG. 2a-b differ from embodiment of FIG. 1a-b
only because of the placement of the compartment 12 and the
reflector 16.
[0023] FIG. 3a-b shows another embodiment of the present invention.
In this embodiment all of the principle elements remain the same,
but the sport shirt further comprises of a key compartment 18 and a
cellular phone compartment 20 that are attached to the shirt 10.
The key compartment 18 is also made of a stretchy material and is
attached to the shirt 10 on one of the sleeves of the shirt 10. The
closing means of the key compartment 18 is the same as the closing
means of the compartment 12. The cellular phone compartment 20 is
also made of a stretchy material and is attached to the shirt 10 on
the sleeve not having the key compartment 18. The closing means of
the cellular phone compartment 20 is the same as the closing means
of the compartment 12.
[0024] The means for attaching the compartments 12, 18, 20 and the
reflectors 14, 16 to the shirt 10 are known in the art.
[0025] This invention is used by an individual by first placing the
shirt on the individual, then housing any devices to be carried
during the individuals exercise routine within the inventions
compartments, and then exercising.
[0026] With respect to the above description then, it is to be
realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts
of the invention, to include variations in size, material, shape,
form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are
deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and
all equivalent relationships with those illustrated in the drawings
and described in the specifications are intended to be encompassed
by the present invention.
[0027] Therefore, the forgoing description is considered as
illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further,
since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to
those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention
to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and
accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be
resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
