Anti slip device for monitor
Abstract
An anti-slip device for the supporting stand of a monitor, which
is capable of preventing the bottom rod of the supporting stand
from slipping. The anti-slip device includes: a semi section
anti-slip sleeve; at least one insert member which protrudes from
the anti-slip sleeve; a rotatable body cover which is integrally
formed with and extends from one end of the anti-slip device; and a
snap fastener which is connected to the free end of the body cover.
An insertion slot is correspondingly formed on the anti-slip
sleeve. To utilize the monitor, the anti-slip device is clamped
onto the bottom rod of the supporting stand. The insert member is
further inserted into the reserved hole in the bottom rod. The body
cover is then closed around the top of the bottom rod. It is
because of the insert connection to the insert member and the clamp
by the body cover and the anti-slip sleeve, that the anti-slip
device is securely attached to the supporting stand.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates in general to an anti-slip
device, and more particularly, to an anti-slip device for the
supporting stand of a monitor, which is capable of preventing the
bottom rod of the supporting stand from slipping.
[0002] Ordinarily, in order to erect an object on a planar surface
such as a table, a supporting stand must be pivotally connected to
the rear of the object. This supporting stand is rotated out in
order to create a specific distance between the supporting stand
and the object. The object is capable of being erected on a planar
surface, such as a table, because the supporting stand acts as a
prop for the object when such a specific distance is created. But,
because the supporting stand is constructed from tubular rod
material for the most part, the support stand is very likely to
slip on a flat, planar surface. Such a slip on the part of the
support stands could cause the object to fall and become damaged.
Consequently, to remedy this danger, an anti-slip sleeve 10a is
installed over the bottom rod 5a of the supporting stand 20a, as
illustrated in FIG. 1A. This anti-slip sleeve 10a is in the shape
of a semi circle arc and is directly installed over the bottom rod
5a. Another conventional anti-slip device is illustrated in FIG.
1B. The anti-slip sleeve 10b has a tubular design and is directly
sleeved over the bottom rod 5a. After installation of either
anti-slip sleeve 10a or 10b, the supporting stand 20a is prevented
from slipping because it makes contact with the flat, planar
surface via the anti-slip sleeve.
[0003] However, because the aforementioned anti-slip sleeves, 10a
and 10b, are only sleeved over the bottom rod 5a of the supporting
stand 20, these anti-slip sleeves are not fixed over the bottom rod
5a and can be laterally dislocated. Such a lateral dislocation
creates an unstable condition which is based on a shift in the
object's center of gravity.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The present invention provides an anti-slip device which is
securely inserted over the bottom rod of the supporting stand. The
anti-slip device locks the anti-slip sleeve onto the supporting
stand and, thereby, prevents the anti-slip sleeve from moving
laterally while installed on the supporting stand.
[0005] The anti-slip device provided by the present invention
includes: a semi section anti-slip sleeve; at least one insert
member which protrudes from the anti-slip sleeve; a rotatable body
cover which is integrally formed with and extends from one end of
the anti-slip device; and a snap fastener which is connected to the
free end of the body cover. An insertion slot is correspondingly
formed on the anti-slip sleeve. To utilize the monitor, a consumer
clamps the anti-slip device onto the bottom rod of the supporting
stand, inserts the insert member into the reserved hole in the
bottom rod, and then closes the body cover around the top of the
bottom rod, clipping the snap fastener into the insert slot of the
anti-slip sleeve. This procedure encloses the bottom rod between
the anti-slip sleeve and the body cover. It is because of the
insert connection to the insert member and the clamp by the body
cover and the anti-slip sleeve, that the anti-slip device is
securely attached to the supporting stand.
[0006] The present invention provides the anti-slip device with one
or more insert members which protrude from the anti-slip sleeve.
The insert member is formed with a bulge column that is topped with
a circular cone head. The bulge column is inserted into a hole in
the bottom rod in order to secure the anti-slip sleeve over the
bottom rod. The snap fastener is formed by one or more snap hooks.
This snap hook is inserted into the slot of the anti-slip
sleeve.
[0007] These and other objectives of the present invention will
become obvious to those of ordinary skill in the art after reading
the following description of preferred embodiments.
[0008] It is to be understood that both the foregoing general
description and the following detailed description are exemplary,
and are intended to provide further explanation of the invention as
claimed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0021] Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred
embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are
illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Wherever possible, the
same reference numbers are used in the drawings and the description
to refer to the same or like parts.
[0022] Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, a perspective view and a cross
sectional view of the present invention are show respectively. The
anti-slip device 10 includes a circular semi section anti-slip
sleeve 1, which may be formed in other geometric configurations
such as a rectangular semi section; at least one insert member 2
that protrudes inside the anti-slip sleeve 1, is formed with a
bulge column 21 and is topped with a circular cone head; and a
rotatable body cover 3 which is integrally formed with and extends
from one end of the anti-slip sleeve 1, it is capable of closing
around the top of the anti-slip sleeve 1.
[0023] A snap fastener 4 is formed at the free end of the body
cover 3. The snap fastener 4 comprises at least one snap hook 41.
At least one insert slot 11 is correspondingly formed on the
anti-slip sleeve 1. Further, a plurality of rib strips are formed
beneath the bottom of the anti-slip sleeve 1 in order to ensure
that the anti-slip sleeve 1 easily makes contact with a planar
surface such as a table.
[0024] Referring to FIG. 4, the usage of the anti-slip device 10 of
the present invention is illustrated. The anti-slip device 10 is
installed onto the bottom rod 5 of the supporting stand 20. The
bottom rod 5 does not make actual contact with the planar surface.
Instead, the anti-slip device 10 makes direct contact with the
planar surface. Further, at least one hole 51 is bored beneath the
bottom rod 5 to facilitate the insertion of the bulge column 21.
The number and position of the hole 51 is dependant on the number
and designated position of the anti-slip device 10.
[0025] Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, a perspective view and a cross
sectional view of an anti-slip device 10 installed onto a monitor's
supporting stand are show respectively. To install an anti-slip
device 10 onto the bottom rod 5 of a supporting stand 20, a
consumer clamps the anti-slip sleeve 1 into the hole 51 of the
bottom rod 5 in order to orient and connect the anti-slip sleeve 1
onto the bottom rod 5, closes the body cover 3 around the top of
the bottom rod 5, then clips the snap hook 41 into the insert slot
11 of the anti-slip sleeve 1. The bottom rod 5 is thereby enwrapped
between the anti-slip sleeve 1 and the body cover 3. It is
therefore, via the anti-slip sleeve 10 that the supporting stand
makes contact with a planar surface such as a table.
[0026] Referring to FIG. 7, another embodiment of the present
invention is shown. The anti-slip device 10 has two insert members
2 formed inside the anti-slip sleeve 1. Two corresponding holes 51
are bored beneath the bottom rod 5 of the supporting stand 20.
[0027] Referring to FIGS. 8 and 9, a supporting stand 20 installed
onto a monitor 100 is illustrated. The supporting stand 20 is
installed onto the rear of the monitor 100. The monitor 100 has a
frame stand 30 installed around its circumference. The anti-slip
device 10 is installed onto both the bottom rod 5 of the supporting
stand 20 and the bottom rod 301 of the frame stand 30. By utilizing
the anti-slip device 10 on both the frame stand 30 and the
supporting stand 20, the monitor 100 can be stably erected on a
given planar surface. To utilize the monitor 100, a consumer
rotates the supporting stand out in order to create a specific
distance between the frame stand 30 and the bottom rod 5. The
monitor 100 is thereby stably erected on a planar surface such as a
table because the monitor vicariously makes contact with the
surface via the anti-slip device 10.
[0028] Referring to FIG. 10, the supporting stand 20 is utilized in
a computer host 200. Two supporting stands 20 are installed beneath
the front and rear ends of the computer host 200. Further, the
cross section of the bottom rod 5 of the supporting stand 20 is
rectangular. The bottom rod 5 is capable of being installed with
the anti-slip device 10.
