Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a cosmetic compact including a semi-sphere cover and base with a two-sided mirror connected therebetween.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] A conventional cosmetic compact 50 is disclosed in FIG. 6 and generally includes a base with a cover pivotably connected to the base. A plurality of partitions are defined in the base so as to receive different colors of powders therein. Nevertheless, the partitions are located on the same plane and separated by short separation plates so that the powders are mixed with each other after being used for a period of time and look messy. FIG. 7 shows another conventional cosmetic compact 60 wherein the base 62 is a jar with a threaded neck 621 and the cosmetic powder is received in the base 62. A cover 61 is threadedly mounted to the threaded neck 621 to seal the base 62. The base 62 can only receive on cosmetic powder 63 and the user has to rotate the cover 61 when opening and closing the cosmetic compact. This is not convenient for the users.

[0003] The present invention intends to provide a cosmetic compact that is easy to open and includes a two-sided mirror for separating two different partitions.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0004] The present invention relates to a cosmetic compact that comprises a cover pivotably connected to a base and each of the cover and the base includes a recess for receiving cosmetic material therein. The cover includes a positioning plate and a protrusion extends from an outside of the peripheral wall so as to engage with the positioning plate to close the cover onto the base. A two-sided mirror pivotably connected between the cover 10 and the base.

[0005] The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0006] FIG. 1 is a perspective view to show the cosmetic compact of the present invention;

[0007] FIG. 2 is a side view to show the cosmetic compact of the present invention;

[0008] FIG. 3 shows that the cosmetic compact is opened;

[0009] FIGS. 4 and 5 show that the user may use the cosmetic material in the cover or in the base;

[0010] FIG. 6 shows a conventional cosmetic compact, and

[0011] FIG. 7 shows another conventional cosmetic compact.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0012] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, the cosmetic compact 1 of the present invention comprises a cover 10 which includes a lug 140 which is pivotably connected between two lugs 22 on a base 30. Each of the cover 10 and the base 30 includes a recessed area 11/31 and a heart-shaped recess 12/32 for receiving cosmetic material 121/321 therein. A two-sided mirror 20 includes two lugs 36 which are located in alignment with the lug 140 and lugs 22 and a pin 40 extends through them so that the three items are pivotably connected with each other and the two-sided mirror 20 is located between the cover 10 and the base 30. The two-sided mirror 20 is received in the two respective recessed areas 11 and 31 when the cover 10 closes on the base 30. The cover 10 includes a positioning plate 13 extending from a periphery thereof and the base 3 includes a peripheral wall 33 which encloses the recessed area 31. A protrusion 331 extends from an outside of the peripheral wall 33 so as to engage with the positioning plate 13 to position the cover 10 onto the base 30. A flange 34 extends from the base 30 and is located beneath the protrusion 331. The peripheral wall 33 includes two notches 35 and the two-sided mirror 20 includes two ears 21 which are sized to be engaged with the notches 35.

[0013] When using the cosmetic compact 1, the user puts her finger in the area between the flange 34 and the positioning plate 13 and lifts the cover 10 as shown in FIG. 4. The cosmetic material 121 in the cover 10 can be accessed and the mirror plate 20 can be used conveniently. The two-sided mirror 20 can be pivoted upward by lifting the lugs 21 as shown in FIG. 5.

[0014] The cover 10 and the base 30 as shown are a semi-sphere which is attractive in outer appearance and the two-sided mirror 20 is so convenient for the user whichever the material 121, 321 is used.

[0015] While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
