Foldable barbecue grill
Abstract
A barbecue grill includes a frame, two support racks pivotally
mounted on two ends of the frame, and a stretcher detachably
mounted on the frame and urged between the two support racks to
support the two support racks at an upright state by restriction of
the stretcher. Thus, the two support racks of the barbecue grill
are folded when not in use so as to save the space of storage. In
addition, the barbecue grill is expanded and partially folded
easily and conveniently, thereby facilitating a user operating the
barbecue grill.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0027] Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-12, a
barbecue grill in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the
present invention comprises a frame 10, two support racks 20
pivotally mounted on two ends of the frame 10, and a stretcher 40
detachably mounted on the frame 10 and urged between the two
support racks 20 to support the two support racks 20 at an upright
state.
[0028] The frame 10 is a rectangular box and has four corners
provided with two upright first support posts 15 located at a first
side of the frame 10 and two upright second support posts 17
located at a second side of the frame 10.
[0029] Each of the two support racks 20 includes a first support
bar 21 pivotally mounted on a respective one of the two first
support posts 15 of the frame 10, a second support bar 25 pivotally
mounted on a respective one of the two second support posts 17 of
the frame 10, and a connecting bracket 24 mounted between the first
support bar 21 and the second support bar 25.
[0030] The first support bar 21 of each of the two support racks 20
has a lower end pivotally mounted on an upper end of the respective
first support post 15 of the frame 10, and a first pivot gap 30
(see FIG. 6) is defined between the lower end of the first support
bar 21 of each of the two support racks 20 and the upper end of the
respective first support post 15 of the frame 10.
[0031] In addition, the upper end of each of the two first support
posts 15 of the frame 10 is formed with two first pivot holes 16
(see FIG. 3), and the lower end of the first support bar 21 of each
of the two support racks 20 is formed with a first pivot seat 22
formed with two first pivot bores 23 pivotally mounted on the two
first pivot holes 16 of the upper end of the respective first
support post 15 of the frame 10.
[0032] The second support bar 25 of each of the two support racks
20 has a lower end pivotally mounted on an upper end of the
respective second support post 17 of the frame 10, and a second
pivot gap 32 (see FIG. 5) is defined between the lower end of the
second support bar 25 of each of the two support racks 20 and the
upper end of the respective second support post 17 of the frame
10.
[0033] In addition, the upper end of each of the two second support
posts 17 of the frame 10 is formed with two second pivot holes 18
(see FIG. 2), and the lower end of the second support bar 25 of
each of the two support racks 20 is formed with a second pivot seat
26 formed with two second pivot bores 27 pivotally mounted on the
two second pivot holes 18 of the upper end of the respective second
support post 17 of the frame 10.
[0034] The stretcher 40 has two ends each formed with an insert 45
(see FIG. 7) inserted into the first pivot gap 30 (see FIGS. 9 and
10) between the lower end of the first support bar 21 of each of
the two support racks 20 and the upper end of the respective first
support post 15 of the frame 10 to push the two support racks 20,
so that the two support racks 20 are disposed at an upright state
and cannot be pivoted inward relative to the frame 10.
[0035] The barbecue grill further comprises an auxiliary stretcher
50 mounted between the two support racks 20. Preferably, the
auxiliary stretcher 50 has an arc-shaped profile to enhance the
aesthetic quality of the barbecue grill.
[0036] The second support bar 25 of each of the two support racks
20 has a mediate portion formed with a snapping hole 28 (see FIG.
2), and the auxiliary stretcher 50 has two bent ends each formed
with a snapping plate 51 (see FIG. 4) snapped into the snapping
hole 28 of the second support bar 25 of each of the two support
racks 20.
[0037] The auxiliary stretcher 50 is provided with a support bar 55
(see FIG. 11) having two ends each formed with an insert 56 (see
FIG. 12) inserted into the second pivot gap 32 between the lower
end of the second support bar 25 of each of the two support racks
20 and the upper end of the respective second support post 17 of
the frame 10 to support the two support racks 20, so that the two
support racks 20 are disposed at an upright state and cannot be
pivoted inward relative to the frame 10.
[0038] When in use, the insert 45 of the stretcher 40 is inserted
into the first pivot gap 30 between the lower end of the first
support bar 21 of each of the two support racks 20 and the upper
end of the respective first support post 15 of the frame 10 to push
the two support racks 20, and the insert 56 of the support bar 55
of the auxiliary stretcher 50 is inserted into the second pivot gap
32 between the lower end of the second support bar 25 of each of
the two support racks 20 and the upper end of the respective second
support post 17 of the frame 10 to support the two support racks
20, so that the two support racks 20 are disposed at an upright
state as shown in FIG. 1, and cannot be pivoted inward relative to
the frame 10 by restriction of the stretcher 40 and the support bar
55 of the auxiliary stretcher 50.
[0039] As shown in FIG. 13, when not in use, the stretcher 40 and
the support bar 55 of the auxiliary stretcher 50 are removed from
the two support racks 20 to release the two support racks 20, so
that the two support racks 20 are freely pivoted inward relative to
the frame 10, thereby folding the two support racks 20 onto the
frame 10 to save the space of storage.
[0040] Accordingly, the two support racks 20 of the barbecue grill
are folded when not in use so as to save the space of storage. In
addition, the barbecue grill is expanded and partially folded
easily and conveniently, thereby facilitating a user operating and
folding the barbecue grill. Further, the barbecue grill is folded
easily, thereby facilitating package, transportation and storage of
the barbecue grill.
[0041] Although the invention has been explained in relation to its
preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood
that many other possible modifications and variations can be made
without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is,
therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will
cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true
scope of the invention.
