having an application No. 60/460,192 and a filing date of Apr. 04,
2003.
BACKGROUND OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
[0002] 1. Field of Invention
[0003] The present invention relates to a fitness wear, and more
particularly to a fitness wear worn during exercising which
enhances the effect of exercising by insulating a user from the
surroundings so that heat generated by the user through exercising
is kept between the user and the wear so as to promote perspiration
and help speeding up weight loss, and at the same time, allows air
to be trapped between the user and the wear so that the skin of the
user can breathe, wherein said fitness wear is comprised of a
special polymeric means.
[0004] 2. Description of Related Arts
[0005] Nowadays, people mainly exercise for a few reasons: staying
healthy, keeping figure and loosing weight. However, people who
wish to keep their figures and loose weight seldom have
satisfactory results. First of all, very few people can actually
loose weight through exercising. Of the few who managed to loose
weight probably have shared the same experience of finding it
harder to loose excess fat on parts of the body where they really
desire than parts they don't.
[0006] A lot of products are developed to help people achieving the
goals of loosing weight or slimming desired parts of the body.
Examples of such products are rubbing creams and gels, and adhesive
pads for applying on to areas where slimming is desired. These
products usually claim that they can be absorbed by the body and
can dissolve the fat underneath the skin. Many of these creams,
gels and pads, however, are expensive and found to have minimal
effect. Another draw back of those products is that they may
contain substances that are harmful to the human body and can cause
problems such as clotting of pores, development of skin acne and
skin rashes.
[0007] The present invention is therefore developed to provide a
natural, safe, yet effective method to maximize the effect of
exercising and to provide the choice of enhancing the effect of
exercising on particular areas according to the desire of the
user.
SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
[0008] A main object of the present invention is to provide a
fitness wear which comprises a special polymeric fabric, having a
non-porous characteristic, coated on a polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
layer, to promote perspiration and increase weight loss by
insulating the body of the wearer from the surroundings so that
heat, which is generated by the wearer through exercising, sauna,
or even performing housework, is kept between the wearer and the
fitness wear.
[0009] Another object of the present invention is to provide
fitness wear which allows air to be trapped between the wearer and
the fitness wear so that the skin of the wearer can continues to
perspire, leaving the skin in a refreshed, healthy-looking and
smooth condition.
[0010] Another object of the present invention is to provide
fitness wear which strengthens the insulation on certain areas of
the wearer's body from the surroundings according to the desire of
the wear so that heat generating by the wearer through exercising
is kept better in those areas which the wearer desires than other
areas, so that the effect of exercising is enhanced in desired
parts of the wearer's body.
[0011] Another object of the present invention is to provide a
fitness wear which is manufactured in a size suitable for most
wearers.
[0012] Accordingly, in order to accomplish the above objects, the
present invention provides a fitness wear comprising a body fitting
having an inner PVC layer and an outer polymeric layer overlapped
thereon to form a non-porous fitting garment. The fitting garment
of the body fitting is adapted for covering on a part of the body
of the wearer to trap the heat therefrom between the wearer's body
and the fitting garment so as to prevent heat loss to the
surroundings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0019] It has becomes a common knowledge that being overweight is
disadvantageous to one's health. Many medical researches have shown
that people who are overweight are at higher risks of suffering
many health conditions such as coronary heart disease, stroke and
diabetes. As a result, people are becoming more conscious of their
weight and will try to loose weight by exercising more. However,
exercising is not always effective. First of all, people spend more
and more time at work, leaving them with less time for other tasks.
They may therefore not be able to have time to do enough exercise
to loose weight. Then, when they finally have time to exercise,
they may physically not be able to sustain long enough to burn
enough energy and produce sweat. Sweating is not only a good
indicator of a good work out but also carries toxic substances such
as nitrogenous wastes away from the body. It is therefore important
to help the body to sweat. With everything else being the same,
using the fitness wear during working out promotes the body to
sweat as much as 2 to 3 times more than usual.
[0020] The fitness wear can be worn anytime because even during
normal activities, the human body will loose heat to the
surroundings. By putting on the fitness wear during normal
activities, heat will be trapped underneath the fitness wear and
sweating of the body promoted. The fitness wear can therefore
provide a wearer with the results of exercising even when the
wearer is only performing normal everyday activities.
[0021] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 5, the fitness wear according to a
preferred embodiment of the present invention is illustrated,
wherein the fitness wear comprises a body fitting having an inner
PVC layer 42 and an outer polymeric layer 41 overlapped thereon to
form a non-porous fitting garment, wherein the fitting wear is
adapted for insulating desired areas of the body of the wearer from
the surroundings. The outer polymeric layer 41 possesses non-porous
and non-conductive characteristics, wherein the outer polymeric
layer 41, having an elastic ability, constructed by nylon and
spandex in the ratio of 4:1 by weight. Alternatively, the outer
polymeric layer 41 is constructed by polyester and spandex in the
ratio of 43:7 by weight.
[0022] The inner PVC layer 42, which is overlapped on the outer
polymeric layer 41, refers to all chemicals with the general
formula of [C.sub.2H.sub.3Cl].sub.n. The nylon of the outer
polymeric layer 41 refers to all conventionally known nylon, and
more particularly to `nylon 6,6`, `nylon 6,12`, `nylon 4,6`, `nylon
6`, and `nylon 12`. The spandex of the outer polymeric layer 41
refers to chemicals comprising at least 85% polyurethane. The
polyester of the outer polymeric layer 41 refers to all
conventionally known type of polyester suitable for producing
fabrics.
[0023] The combination of nylon and spandex to form the outer
polymeric layer 41 coated on the inner PVC layer 42 or the
combination of polyester and spandex to form the outer polymeric
layer 41 coated on the inner PVC layer 42 provides the
characteristics of non-porous and non-conductive so that heat
generated by the wearer is prohibited from being transferred to the
surroundings. The heat accumulated under the body fitting raises
the temperature surrounding the wearer and encourages perspiration
of the wearer which helps speeding up weight loss.
[0024] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the body fitting comprises a top
body fitting 1 and a lower body fitting 2.
[0025] The top body fitting 1, which is made of the fitting
garment, has a front upper torso portion 11, a back upper torso
portion, at least one suspender 13 linking the front upper torso
portion 11 and the back upper torso portion 12 for securing the top
fitting 1 on the wearer. The top body fitting 1 further has an
upper elastic opening 14 and a lower elastic opening 15.
[0026] The body fitting further comprises a plurality of tighteners
for tightening the fitting garment on the body of the wearer. When
the tighteners are tightened to wrap around the user, the
tighteners create a sealing effect, and air is trapped therewithin.
By tightening different tighteners on the top and lower body
fittings 1, 2 and changing the tightness of the tighteners,
different sealing effects are created so that exercising effects
are enhanced according to the desire of the user.
[0027] The upper elastic opening 14, which is embodied as one of
the tighteners, is designed to fittingly wrap around the upper body
portion of the wearer at a position below the armpits and the lower
elastic opening 15 is designed to fittingly wrap around the wearer
on the waist to prohibit air from leaving the top body fitting 1.
The top body fitting 1 is designed to loosely fit onto the wearer
so that sufficient amount of air is trapped inside the top body
fitting 1. As a result, when being used, the top body fitting 1
traps enough air inside it to allow the skin to continue breathing,
leaving the skin healthy and smooth. The looseness of the top body
fitting 1 also allows the wearer to perform activities freely.
[0028] In other words, the top body fitting 1 is shaped and sized
larger than the size of the wearer's upper body to form an air
chamber between the top body fitting 1 and the wearer's body when
the wearer wears the top body fitting 1, wherein the heat from the
wearer is retained within the air chamber for promoting sweating.
In addition, the tighteners, i.e. the upper and lower elastic
openings 14, 15, are formed at the openings of the top body fitting
1 for sealing the air within the air chamber. Therefore, the
tighteners are provided at the openings of the top body fitting 1
for sealing the air within the air chamber so as to form a heat
insulating layer inside the top body fitting 1.
[0029] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 3, the lower body fitting 2, which
is also made of the fitting garment, has a lower torso portion 21
and a pair of pant legs 22, wherein the lower torso portion 21
extends from the upper elastic opening 14. Each of the pant legs 22
has an elastic foot opening 23.
[0030] The elastic foot opening 23, which is embodied as another
tighteners, is designed to fittingly wrap around the wearer around
the ankle area to prohibit air from leaving the lower torso portion
21. The lower body fitting 2 is designed to loosely fit onto the
wearer so that sufficient amount of air is trapped inside the lower
body fitting 2. As a result, when being used, the lower body
fitting traps enough air inside it to allow the skin to continue
breathing, leaving the skin healthy and smooth. The looseness of
the lower body fitting 2 also allows the user to perform activities
freely.
[0031] In other words, the lower body fitting 2 is shaped and sized
larger than the size of the wearer's lower body to form the air
chamber between the lower body fitting 2 and the wearer's body when
the wearer wears the lower body fitting 2, wherein the heat from
the wearer is retained within the air chamber for promoting
sweating. In addition, the tighteners, i.e. the foot openings 23,
are formed at the openings of the top body fitting 1 for sealing
the air within the air chamber. Therefore, the tighteners are
provided at the openings of the lower body fitting 2 for sealing
the air within the air chamber so as to form a heat insulating
layer inside the lower body fitting 2.
[0032] Accordingly, the body fitting can be alternatively
configured to fit the wearer, wherein the fitness wear is adapted
for insulating desired areas of the body of the wear from the
surroundings.
[0033] Accordingly, the top body fitting 1 can be constructed to
have an upper torso portion and a pair of sleeves, wherein the top
body fitting 1 is made of the fitting garment possessing a
non-porous characteristic, wherein the outer polymeric layer 41
comprises nylon spandex in the ratio of 4:1 by weight.
Alternatively, the outer polymeric player 41 comprises polyester
and spandex in the ratio of 43:7 by weight.
[0034] One skilled in the art will understand that the embodiment
of the present invention as shown in the drawings and described
above is exemplary only and not intended to be limiting.
[0035] It will thus be seen that the objects of the present
invention have been fully and effectively accomplished. It
embodiments have been shown and described for the purposes of
illustrating the functional and structural principles of the
present invention and is subject to change without departure from
such principles. Therefore, this invention includes all
modifications encompassed within the spirit and scope of the
following claims.
