Description

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a handle for a case.

[0003] 2. Related Prior Art

[0004] Taiwanese Patent Publication No. 429866 discloses a handle 4 for a case 20. The handle 4 includes a body 40 pivotally attached to a case 20 and a skin 41 for wrapping the body 40. The hardness of the body 40 is greater than that of the skin 41. Thus, the body 40 provides an adequate strength, and the skin 41 provides a nice touch for a user's hand. However, in use, the skin 41 tends to slide on the body 40 and therefore causes difficulty for the user to hold. Moreover, the skin 41 becomes stinky because of sweat coming from the user's hand.

[0005] The present invention is therefore intended to obviate or at least alleviate the problems encountered in prior art.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

[0006] It is an objective of the present invention to provide a handle for a case that can be held firmly by a user's hand.

[0007] It is another objective of the present invention to provide a handle for a case capable of dispersing odor coming from a user's hand.

[0008] According to the present invention, a handle includes an upper portion, a lower portion secured to the upper portion and formed with hardness less than that of the upper portion and at least one aperture defined therein.

[0009] The at least one aperture is located between the upper and lower portions. The at least one aperture is defined via an upper face and a lower face. The upper face of the at least one aperture is part of a lower face of the upper portion. The lower face of the at least one aperture is part of an upper face of the lower portion. The upper face of the at least one aperture is arc-shaped. The lower face of the at least one aperture is arc-shaped. The handle includes one, two or three apertures.

[0010] The upper portion includes a plurality of ribs formed thereon. The upper portion includes two ends to be attached to a case. The first and second portions are formed together via injection molding.

[0011] Other objects, advantages, and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the attached drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0012] The present invention will be described through detailed illustration of embodiments referring to the attached drawings wherein:

[0013] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a case equipped with a handle according to a first embodiment of the present invention, showing the case in phantom lines and the handle in bold lines.

[0014] FIG. 2 is a side view of the case and the handle shown in FIG. 1.

[0015] FIG. 3 is an enlarged perspective view of a portion of the case and the handle shown in FIG. 1.

[0016] FIG. 4 is similar to FIG. 2 but showing the handle held by a user's hand.

[0017] FIG. 5 is similar to FIG. 4 but showing the case equipped with a handle according to a second embodiment of the present invention.

[0018] FIG. 6 is similar to FIG. 5 but showing the case equipped with a handle according to a third embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS

[0019] Referring to FIGS. 1.about.3, according to a first embodiment of the present invention, a handle 1 is attached to a case 2.

[0020] The handle 1 includes an upper portion 11 and a lower portion 12 formed together with the upper portion 11. The hardness of the upper portion 11 is greater than that of the lower portion 12. Thus, the upper portion 11 provides an adequate strength, and the lower portion 12 provides a nice touch for a user's hand. The portions 11 and 12 are formed together via injection molding.

[0021] The upper portion 11 includes two ends 13 to be embedded in the case 2. The upper portion 11 includes a plurality of ribs 14 formed thereon for engagement with the user's palm.

[0022] The handle 1 includes three apertures 15 defined therein and are located between the upper 11 and the lower portion 12. As shown in FIG. 3, air can flow through the apertures 15, thus dispersing odor coming from the user's hand. Each of the apertures 15 is defined via an arc-shaped upper face 151 and an arc-shaped lower face 152. The arc-shaped upper face 151 is part of a lower face of the upper portion 11. The arc-shaped lower face 152 is part of an upper face of the lower portion 12.

[0023] Referring to FIG. 4, when the lower portion 12 is engaged with the user's fingers, the arc-shaped lower faces 152 are deformed toward the arc-shaped upper faces 151 because the lower portion 12 is pressed by the user's index finger, middle finger and ring finger. This deformation allows the user's hand to firmly hold the handle 1.

[0024] FIG. 5 shows the user's hand holding a handle according to a second embodiment of the present invention. The second embodiment is identical to the first embodiment except for defining two apertures 15'. One of the apertures 15' is located according to the user's index finger and middle finger and the remaining one of the apertures 15' is located according to the user's ring finger and little finger.

[0025] FIG. 6 shows the user's hand holding a handle according to a third embodiment of the present invention. The second embodiment is identical to the first and second embodiments except for defining a single aperture 15" located according to the user's index finger, middle finger, ring finger and little finger.

[0026] The present invention has been described through detailed illustration of the preferred embodiment. Those skilled in the art can derive many variations from the preferred embodiment without departing from the scope of the present invention. Therefore, the preferred embodiment shall not limit the scope of the present invention. The scope of the present invention is defined in the attached claims.
