Open loop hair extension
Abstract
The present invention provides a method of adding extensions to
a wearers own intact hair. The hair extension of the present
invention includes a plurality of artificial or human hair strands
having a length, turned about a separate rod, the rod is used only
to form the open loop. The rod is removed leaving a one embodiment
hair extension, comprising of a length of hair having a first end
with an open loop and a second end that is banded or tied. Whereby
the wearers hair is prepared to receive the open loop extension by
plaiting cornrows horizontally on the wearers head. The open loop
first end of the extension is inserted through a section of a
cornrow plait vertically, under crossing the cornrow plait to the
scalp, until the full loop is visible, the open loop is ready to
receive the banded or tied second end. By inserting the banded or
tied second end of the extension completely through the first end
open loop, pulling tight, causing a looping around the plaited
cornrow section, resulting in a completely attached one embodiment
open loop extension.

Claims
What is claimed is:
1. An attachable open loop hair extension pre-manufactured,
comprising: a plurality of hair strands having a length, having a
first end with an open loop and a second end that is banded or
tied,
2. The hair extension claim 1, wherein the open loop extension
comprises artificial or human hair,
3. The hair extension claim 1, whereby a plurality of artificial or
human hair is turned about a separate rod during manufacturing, the
rod is used only to form the first end open loop, the second end of
the open loop extension is banded or tied.
4. The hair extension claim 2, whereby an open loop extension
having a first end with an open loop and a second end that is
banded or tied is virtually undetectable when attached to the
wearers own intact hair.
5. A method for manufacturing and preparing an open loop extension,
the method comprising the steps of: a plurality of artificial or
human hair strands having a length, turned about a separate rod
used only to form the first end open loop, and the second end that
is banded or tied, completing a one embodiment single open loop
extension, ready for attachment to the wearers own intact hair,
6. The method of claim 2, wherein the open loop extension when
attached to the wearers own intact hair will give the look of
braided extensions when braided, or a fuller head of hair when the
banded or tied second end is removed after the open loop extension
is attached,
7. The method of claim 2, wherein the method further comprises the
steps of: attaching the open loop extension., whereby the wearers
own intact hair is prepared by plaiting cornrow plaits horizontally
on the wearers entire head and the open loop extension first end is
inserted through a section of a cornrow plait under crossing the
plait vertically to the scalp until the full open loop is visible,
the open loop is ready to receive the banded or tied second end, by
inserting the second end completely through the awaiting open loop
first end, pulling the second end tight, causing a looping around
the plaited cornrow section, thus a securely attached one
embodiment open loop extension.
Description
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
1. Background of the Invention
[0001] A. Field of the Invention
[0002] B. Description of the Related Art
[0003] The invention described herein is the work of the named
inventor, is a response to a need for a simple, secure and
efficient method of attaching hair extensions to a wearers intact
hair. The present invention relates to hair extensions,
particularly to a hair extension having structure which facilitates
the attachment of the extension without outside supplements or
devices attached to the extension to aid in securing the extension
to the wearers own intact hair.
DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART
[0004] Hair extensions are commonly attached to plaited hair to
achieve a new hair style, or to add to the hairs length or to give
the appearance of a fuller head of hair. To make sure the extension
is securely attached to the wearers own intact hair, it has
heretofore been necessary to weave the extension to the wearers own
intact hair, or to glue on the extensions, or the use of clamps to
attach extensions. What is needed is a hair extension that is
quickly and easily attached to plaited hair without requiring
weaving, gluing or clamping.
[0005] The present invention provides a new and improved extension,
which overcomes certain difficulties inherent in the related
inventions while providing better overall results.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] In accordance with the present invention, it is the primary
objective of the present invention to provide a quick and easy
extension method to add length and style to a persons intact
hair.
[0007] The hair extension of the present invention comprises a
plurality of artificial or human hair strands having a length of
hair turned about a separate rod to form the extensions open loop
when the rod is removed. The open loop extension having a first end
with an open loop and a second end which is banded or tied.
[0008] To use the present invention, a wearers own intact hair is
first parted and cornrow plaits are braided in horizontal rows, row
by row until the entire head is plaited, forming the tracks on
which the extensions will be attached.
[0009] In accordance with the present invention, the one embodiment
open loop extension is attached to a cornrow plait by inserting the
open loop first end vertically to the scalp of a section of a
cornrow, until the full open loop is visible. The open loop is now
ready to receive the banded or tied second end which is inserted
through the open loop first end completely, pulling the banded or
tied second end tight, causing a looping around that section of the
cornrow plait, completing a secure and long lasting attached open
loop extension. This process is repeated across the length of each
cornrow plait.
[0010] In accordance with the present invention, the one embodiment
open loop extension method of attachment is repeated across the
length of each cornrow plait, causing the next cornrow with
attached extensions to over lap the preceding row, concealing the
method of attachment, row by overlapping row, until the entire head
is covered or the desired hair style is achieved, secure, quick and
easy.
[0011] Still other benefits and advantages of the invention will
become apparent to those skilled in the art upon a reading and
understanding of the following detailed specification.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0012] The invention is illustrated in the following drawings:
[0013] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the one embodiment open loop
extensions turned about a separate rod used only to form the open
loop.
[0014] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a complete one embodiment
open loop extension after the rod to form the open loop is removed,
with the first end open loop and the second end banded or tied,
ready for attachment.
[0015] FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the first end open loop of
the extension, being pulled vertically through to the scalp of a
section of a cornrow plait, using a small needle like device (not
shown) until the entire loop is visible.
[0016] FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the second end that is
banded or tied, again a needle like device (not shown) is used to
pull the second end through the awaiting first end open loop.
[0017] FIG. 5 is a perspective view of completely attached open
loop extensions, wrapped around sections of cornrow plaits, with
the second end banded, showing overlapping rows of extensions that
conceal the method of attachment.
[0018] FIG. 6 is a perspective view of multiple completed hair
styles achieved by using the open loop extension, showing a variety
of lengths styles and textures of artificial or human hair.
DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS
[0019] The above description presents the best mode contemplated in
caring out my invention. However susceptible to modifications and
alternate constructions from the embodiments shown in the drawings
and described, consequently it is not the intention to limit the
invention to the particular embodiments disclosed. On the contrary
the invention is intended to cover all modifications, sizes and
alternate constructions falling within the spirit and scope of the
invention, as expressed in the appended claims or the equivalents
thereof.
