La capa

Abstract

La Capa is not a regular cape. It is not a cape that a magician would use. It is specifically a cape used by woman to breast-feed. The function of this garment is to hide a woman's breasts while breast-feeding. It is used as a cover-up specifically for nursing a baby. This invention covers the front of a woman's chest but has an opening, which is a slit, which runs up and down directly in front of a woman's cleavage. The tie- front keeps the cape closed just enough to hide the baby's head, which is latched onto the nipple. But the slit in the front of the fabric allows mobility of the infant and also lets air flow under garment easily. Also it is easy to maneuver the baby from one breast to the other. The true function of this cape is it is a fabric used for a woman's privacy during woman nursing or pumping their breast milk so they can do this in any public place without exposing their breasts. This is unusual from other inventions because it is not just a breast-feeding garment but something that can be used with all garments. It is a tool to be used by woman who breast-feeds to improve their situation. They do not have to leave a crowd it allows them to be comfortable in front of anyone. Since this invention is tied around a woman's neck, it stays in place allowing her to have her hands free because fabric stays in place so they can nurse easily. The simple shape is the feature that allows woman to discreetly breast-feed and yet it makes it unique from any other invention for hiding breasts during breast-feeding. And since breast milk is best it is essential for woman who would like some privacy while giving their babies Nutrition.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0004] This garment is an improvement on current breast-feeding garments because it allows you to use it over any article of clothing. For example; if you are wearing a regular t-shirt, you can lift t-shirt expose breast allow baby to latch onto nipple, cover breast and the baby's head with this invention called La Capa. It is a cape that ties in the front and hides the breasts during breast-feeding. All other invented breast-feeding garments require that you wear that particular garment. But this invention allows you to wear what ever you would like. Just dress as you wish but put this cape over your shoulders with the front opening and tie to hold in place. Some women have used a towel or blanket and wrap it around themselves but it can sometimes fall. This invention called La Capa stays in-place because of front clousure it does not fall off. I have tried some of the previosly invented garments and I found them to be limited and not in-fashion. I wanted to breast-feed in public but wear what looks good on me and I wanted to not have to buy new clothes. While I was pregnant, I already spent enough money on maternity clothing. I wanted to wear what ever I wanted to wear. I also wanted to be a be able to wear my same clothing long after I stopped breast-feeding. So I invented a way to solve all clothing problems. I also wanted to not be embarrsed to nurse in public. So I always keep my La Capa with me in my diaper bag. It folds down to be small. It is made in a light-weight fabric, easy to wash and care for. Right after I breast-feed La capa remains around my shoulder to be used as a burp cloth, so my clothing doesn't get stained when the baby spits up. It's great! Many women have asked me where to get one because they need this garment.
