Claims
What is claimed is:
1. A magic cover comprising: a cover defining numerous openings
through it; an adjustable gate defining numerous openings though it
and attached under the cover with a movable attachment mean; and
whereby moving the adjustable gate with respect to the cover will
create an adjustable aperture that varies from fully closed to
almost fully open.
2. A magic cover according to claim 1, wherein said openings
defined by the cover are numerous symmetrical circular slots
located from the center of the cover to the edge of the cover, and
wherein said openings defined by the adjustable gate are numerous
symmetrical circular slots located from the center of the cover to
the edge of the cover and said openings are located at exactly the
same location as the symmetrical circular slots on the cover when
the adjustable aperture is fully open.
3. A magic cover according to claim 1, wherein said movable
attachment mean comprises of a hole defined by the adjustable gate
at its center that snaps onto multiple clips under the cover
whereby the adjustable gate can be rotated with respect to the
cover to create adjustable apertures on the cover that can range
from fully closed to almost fully open.
4. A magic cover according to claim 2, wherein said movable
attachment mean comprises of a hole defined by the adjustable gate
at its center that snaps onto multiple clips under the cover
whereby the adjustable gate can be rotated with respect to the
cover to create adjustable apertures on the cover that can range
from fully closed to almost fully open.
Description
BACKGROUND-FIELD OF INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to covers with adjustable
aperture for containers such as containers for air fresheners.
BACKGROUND-DESCRIPTION OF RELATED ART
[0002] Container with cover that has openings is generally used for
controlled release of fragrances from the air fresheners in the
container. Various types of covers with openings are available.
[0003] Some covers have openings that, once it is opened, are
permanent and cannot be adjusted or closed. Such covers may use
paper or aluminum foil as a seal. Once the seal is broken, it
cannot be closed or adjusted. Other covers employ various designs
to allow for adjustability of the openings thereby controlling the
release of the fragrance from the container. However, most of the
existing designs are too complex with numerous small parts, which
increases the manufacturing costs and reduces the reliability. The
simpler designs are not nearly as aesthetically interesting or
pleasing as the present interesting and the apertures are often
difficult to adjust. The present invention resolves all of the
above shortcomings of the existing designs. The present invention
is not only extremely functional but is visually interesting, which
allows it to be placed in clear view, without the usual concern of
discreet placement.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The present invention is a cover with adjustable apertures
for containers. The present invention comprises of two components
that snap together to form an integrated cover. The cover has an
adjustable aperture that can be adjusted easily from fully closed
to almost fully open. The present invention is aesthetically
pleasing and easy to operate.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0005] FIG. 1 shows the top view of the present invention with the
aperture approximately half open.
[0006] FIG. 2 shows the bottom view of the present invention with
the aperture approximately half open.
[0007] FIG. 3 shows a side view of the present invention.
[0008] FIG. 4 shows another side view of the present invention.
[0009] FIG. 5 shows another side view of the present invention.
[0010] FIG. 6 shows another side view of the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0011] The preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises
of two components that snap together to form an integrated unit.
FIG. 1 shows the top view of the preferred embodiment of the
present invention with the two components fully assembled. The two
components comprise of a cover 1 and the adjustable gate 2. The
cover 1 has a tab 3 that extends outward from the side of the cover
1 to allow easy removal of the cover 1 from the container that it
is installed on. The cover 1 has numerous symmetrical circular
slots through it from its center to its edge.
[0012] FIG. 2 shows the bottom view of the preferred embodiment of
the present invention with the two components fully assembled. The
adjustable gate 2 has a hole 4 at its center that snaps on to the
clips 5 under the cover 1 whereby the adjustable gate 2 can be
rotated with respect to the cover 1 to create adjustable apertures
on the cover 1 that can range from fully closed to almost fully
open. The adjustable gate 2 also has numerous symmetrical circular
slots through it from its center to its edge. The symmetrical
circular slots on the adjustable gate 2 are located at exactly the
same location as the symmetrical circular slots on the cover 1 when
the aperture is fully open. As the adjustable gate 2 is rotated
with respect to the cover 1, the aperture will gradually reduce and
eventually reach its fully closed position. Under the cover 1,
there are two small edges that extend from the edge of the cover 1
toward the center of the cover 1 to stabilize and hold the
adjustable gate 2 under the cover 1. The cover 1 has a tab 3
located near the bottom of the cover 1 and extends outward from the
side of the cover 1 to allow easy removal of the cover 1 from the
container that it is fitted on.
[0013] FIG. 3 shows a side view of the preferred embodiment of the
present invention with the two components fully assembled. The
cover 1 fully encloses the adjustable gate 2 under it. The
adjustable gate 2 has a small finger that extends upward through
the openings in the cover 1 to allow adjustment of the adjustable
gate 2. The cover 1 has a tab 3 located near the bottom of the
cover 1 and extends outward from the side of the cover 1 to allow
easy removal of the cover 1 from the container that it is fitted
on.
[0014] FIG. 4 shows another side view of the preferred embodiment
of the present invention with the two components fully
assembled.
[0015] FIG. 5 shows another side view of the preferred embodiment
of the present invention with the two components fully assembled.
The cover 1 has a tab 3 located near the bottom of the cover 1 and
extends outward from the side of the cover 1 to allow easy removal
of the cover 1 from the container that it is fitted on.
[0016] FIG. 6 shows another side view of the preferred embodiment
of the present invention with the two components fully
assembled.
