Carrying case for portable electronic equipment and accessories
thereof
Abstract
A carrying case includes a case body including a first wall
having a surrounding edge and a first connecting edge and a second
wall having an encircling edge and a second connecting edge to
define a storage compartment between the first and second walls,
wherein the first connecting edge of the first wall is firmly
attached to the second connecting edge of the second wall, a
communication arrangement provided on the first wall for
communicating the storage compartment of the case body to an
exterior thereof, and a fastening unit for selectively fastening
the surrounding edge of the first wall to the encircling edge of
the second wall, so as to enclose the storage compartment of the
case body. Therefore, accessories are capable of storing in the
case body and externally connecting with a portable electronic
equipment through the communication arrangement while the portable
electronic equipment is remained in the storage compartment.

Claims
What is claimed is:
1. A carrying case for portable electronic equipment and
accessories thereof, comprising: a case body, comprising: a first
wall having a top panel, a front panel, a base panel, a first
connecting edge defined at a longitudinal edge of said base panel;
and a second wall having a back panel, two side panel, and a second
connecting edge defined at a longitudinal edge of said back panel,
wherein said first connecting edge of said first wall is firmly
attached to said second connecting edge of said second wall in an
edge to edge manner to define a storage compartment between said
first and second walls; an elongated window opening provided on
said base panel for communicating said storage compartment of said
case body to an exterior thereof; a cover panel extended from said
first wall in an edge to edge manner for enclosing said window
opening; and a fastening unit for selectively fastening said first
wall to said second wall in an edge to edge manner, so as to
enclose said storage compartment of said case body.
2. The carrying case, as recited in claim 1, wherein said the first
wall further has a surrounding edge defined at edges of said top
panel, said front panel, and two side edges of said base panel, and
wherein said second wall further has an encircling edge defined at
edges of said two side panels and two side edges of said back
panel, in such a manner that said fastening unit is selectively
fastened said surrounding edge of said first wall to said
encircling edge of said second wall.
3. The carrying case, as recited in claim 2, wherein said fastening
device comprises a first half zipper firmly attached to said
surrounding edge of said first wall, a second half zipper firmly
attached to said encircling edge of said second wall, and at least
a zip locker arranged to slidably engage and disengage said first
half zipper with said second half zipper.
4. The carrying case, as recited in claim 1, further comprising an
attaching unit for securely attaching said cover panel to said base
panel so as to enclose said window opening wherein said attaching
unit comprises at least a first attaching element provided on an
outer side of said base panel along edges of said window opening
and at least a corresponding second attaching element provided on
an inner side of said cover panel by attaching said second
attaching element to said first attaching element.
5. The carrying case, as recited in claim 3, further comprising an
attaching unit for securely attaching said cover panel to said base
panel so as to enclose said window opening wherein said attaching
unit comprises at least a first attaching element provided on an
outer side of said base panel along edges of said window opening
and at least a corresponding second attaching element provided on
an inner side of said cover panel by attaching said second
attaching element to said first attaching element.
6. The carrying case, as recited in claim 1, further comprising an
inclined support arrangement comprises a pair of elongated
elements, each having a predetermined length, spacedly extended
from two edge portions of said front panel to said two side panels
so as to retain said case body from a closed position to an
inclinedly opened position, wherein in said closed position, said
first wall is attached to said second wall to enclose said storage
compartment, and in said inclinedly opened position, said front
panel is inclinedly folded up with respect to said back panel.
7. The carrying case, as recited in claim 6, wherein said inclined
support arrangement further comprises a pair of ring-shaped holders
attached to two outer sides of said two side panels respectively
wherein each of said elongated elements has one end securely
attached to an inner side of said front panel and a hook-like
connector provided on another end of the elongated element adapted
for mounting on said respective holder, so as to maintain an
inclined angle between said front panel and said back panel in said
inclinedly opened position.
8. The carrying case, as recited in claim 3, further comprising an
inclined support arrangement comprises a pair of elongated
elements, each having a predetermined length, spacedly extended
from two edge portions of said front panel to said two side panels
so as to retain said case body from a closed position to an
inclinedly opened position, wherein in said closed position, said
first wall is attached to said second wall to enclose said storage
compartment, and in said inclinedly opened position, said front
panel is inclinedly folded up with respect to said back panel.
9. The carrying case, as recited in claim 8, wherein said inclined
support arrangement further comprises a pair of ring-shaped holders
attached to two outer sides of said two side panels respectively
wherein each of said elongated elements has one end securely
attached to an inner side of said front panel and a hook-like
connector provided on another end of the elongated element adapted
for mounting on said respective holder, so as to maintain an
inclined angle between said front panel and said back panel in said
inclinedly opened position.
10. The carrying case, as recited in claim 5, further comprising an
inclined support arrangement comprises a pair of elongated
elements, each having a predetermined length, spacedly extended
from two edge portions of said front panel to said two side panels
so as to retain said case body from a closed position to an
inclinedly opened position, wherein in said closed position, said
first wall is attached to said second wall to enclose said storage
compartment, and in said inclinedly opened position, said front
panel is inclinedly folded up with respect to said back panel.
11. The carrying case, as recited in claim 10, wherein said
inclined support arrangement further comprises a pair of
ring-shaped holders attached to two outer sides of said two side
panels respectively wherein each of said elongated elements has one
end securely attached to an inner side of said front panel and a
hook-like connector provided on another end of the elongated
element adapted for mounting on said respective holder, so as to
maintain an inclined angle between said front panel and said back
panel in said inclinedly opened position.
12. The carrying case, as recited in claim 5, further comprising an
accessory pocket for placing accessories therein formed on an inner
side of said front panel wherein said accessory pocket comprises a
pocket flap having three edges attaching on said front panel and a
plurality of disc holding flaps having three edges overlappedly
attaching on said pocket flap respectively for compact discs
inserting from free edges of said disc holding flaps
respectively.
13. The carrying case, as recited in claim 8, further comprising an
accessory pocket for placing accessories therein formed on an inner
side of said front panel wherein said accessory pocket comprises a
pocket flap having three edges attaching on said front panel and a
plurality of disc holding flaps having three edges overlappedly
attaching on said pocket flap respectively for compact discs
inserting from free edges of said disc holding flaps
respectively.
14. The carrying case, as recited in claim 11, further comprising
an accessory pocket for placing accessories therein formed on an
inner side of said front panel wherein said accessory pocket
comprises a pocket flap having three edges attaching on said front
panel and a plurality of disc holding flaps having three edges
overlappedly attaching on said pocket flap respectively for compact
discs inserting from free edges of said disc holding flaps
respectively.
15. The carrying case, as recited in claim 8, further comprising
auxiliary pocket, having an opening, formed on an outer side of
said front panel wherein a zipper is encirclingly provided at said
opening of said auxiliary pocket for securely closing said
auxiliary pocket for securely placing accessories inside said
auxiliary pocket.
16. The carrying case, as recited in claim 11, further comprising
auxiliary pocket, having an opening, formed on an outer side of
said front panel wherein a zipper is encirclingly provided at said
opening of said auxiliary pocket for securely closing said
auxiliary pocket for securely placing accessories inside said
auxiliary pocket.
17. The carrying case, as recited in claim 14, further comprising
auxiliary pocket, having an opening, formed on an outer side of
said front panel wherein a zipper is encirclingly provided at said
opening of said auxiliary pocket for securely closing said
auxiliary pocket for securely placing accessories inside said
auxiliary pocket.
18. The carrying case, as recited in claim 11, further comprising a
first and second holding straps each having a fixed end extended
from a side edge of said back panel and a pair of hoop and loop
fasteners provided on two free end portions of said first and
second holding straps for holding a portable electronic equipment
in said storage compartment in position by adjustably attaching
said first and second holding straps together.
19. The carrying case, as recited in claim 14, further comprising a
first and second holding straps each having a fixed end extended
from a side edge of said back panel and a pair of hoop and loop
fasteners provided on two free end portions of said first and
second holding straps for holding a portable electronic equipment
in said storage compartment in position by adjustably attaching
said first and second holding straps together.
20. The carrying case, as recited in claim 17, further comprising a
first and second holding straps each having a fixed end extended
from a side edge of said back panel and a pair of hoop and loop
fasteners provided on two free end portions of said first and
second holding straps for holding a portable electronic equipment
in said storage compartment in position by adjustably attaching
said first and second holding straps together.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of Invention
[0002] The present invention relates to a carrying case, and more
particularly to a carrying case for portable electronic equipment
and accessories thereof, which can be quickly and easily folded for
carrying and storing the portable electronic equipment such as
electronic game device and unfolded for supporting the portable
electronic equipment as a play station.
[0003] 2. Description of Related Arts
[0004] Nowadays, electronic equipments are showing a tendency to
decrease their size and weight such as an electronic game device
such that people can carriage such portable electronic equipment
anywhere. For convenience, a user usually purchases a fabric made
carrying bag having relative lightweight for easily carriage and
storage. However, the fabric made carrying bag may not protect the
expensive electronic equipment due to an unwanted collision. Also,
while using the electronic equipment such as "Playstation", "X-Box"
or other CD/DVD player, the user may merely put the carrying bag
somewhere which is a waste of working space and the carrying bag
may easily to be stolen or lost.
[0005] Due to the compact size of the electronic equipment, most of
the accessories, such as joysticks, are externally connected to the
electronic equipments. In other words, the electronic equipment
comprises a plurality of external outlets provided on sides on the
electronic equipment for electrically connecting with the
accessories. Therefore, the user must carry not only the electronic
equipment but also the accessories at the same time. Thus, when the
electronic equipment is incorporated with the accessories, the
electronic equipment must be taken out of the carrying bag in order
to connect the accessories. In other words, the carrying bag for
the electronic equipment can be purposely used for carriage and
storage.
SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
[0006] A main object of the present invention is to provide a
carrying case for portable electronic equipment and accessories
thereof, which can be quickly and easily to be folded for carrying
and storing a portable electronic equipment and unfolded for
supporting the portable electronic equipment as a play station.
[0007] Another object of the present invention is to provide a
carrying case for portable electronic equipment and accessories
thereof, which can well protect the electronic equipments while
traveling and operating so as to prevent the portable electronic
equipment from being collided accidentally.
[0008] Another object of the present invention is to provide a
carrying case for portable electronic equipment and accessories
thereof, wherein the carrying case has a bottom window opening such
that the accessories are capable of connecting to the portable
electronic equipment through the bottom window without taking the
portable electronic equipment out of the carrying case. Therefore,
the portable electronic equipment can be well protected by the
carrying case at all time.
[0009] Another object of the present invention is to provide a
carrying case for portable electronic equipment and accessories
thereof, which can be used in any location and transported in any
vehicle without using tools for its assembly or disassembly.
[0010] Accordingly, in order to accomplish the above objects, the
present invention provides a carrying case for portable electronic
equipment and accessories thereof, which comprises:
[0011] a case body, comprising:
[0012] a first wall having a top panel, a front panel, a base
panel, a first connecting edge defined at a longitudinal edge of
the base panel; and
[0013] a second wall having a back panel, two side panel, and a
second connecting edge defined at a longitudinal edge of the back
panel, wherein the first connecting edge of the first wall is
firmly attached to the second connecting edge of the second wall in
an edge to edge manner to define a storage compartment between the
first and second walls;
[0014] an elongated window opening provided on the base panel for
communicating the storage compartment of the case body to an
exterior thereof;
[0015] a cover panel extended from the first wall in an edge to
edge manner for enclosing the window opening; and
[0016] a fastening unit for selectively fastening the first wall to
the second wall in an edge to edge manner, so as to enclose the
storage compartment of the case body

preferred embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0021] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2 of the drawings, a carrying case
for portable electronic equipment and accessories thereof according
to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is illustrated.
The carrying case comprises case body 10 having a first wall 11 and
a second wall 12 to define a storage compartment 101 therebetween
for receiving the portable electronic equipment and accessories
thereof.
[0022] The first wall 11 has a top panel 113, a front panel 114, a
base panel 115, a first connecting edge 112 defined at a
longitudinal edge of the base panel 115. The second wall 12 has a
back panel 123, two side panels 124, 125, and a second connecting
edge 122 defined at a longitudinal edge of the back panel, wherein
the first connecting edge 112 of the first wall 11 is firmly
attached to the second connecting edge 122 of the second wall 12 in
an edge to edge manner.
[0023] The carrying case further comprises an elongated window
opening 21 provided on the first wall 11 for communicating the
storage compartment 101 to an exterior of the case body 10, a cover
panel 22 is extended from the first connecting edge 112 of the
first wall 11 in an edge to edge manner for enclosing the window
opening 21, and a fastening unit 30 for selectively fastening the
first wall 11 to the second wall 12 in an edge to edge manner, so
as to enclose the storage compartment 101 of the case body 10.
[0024] According to the preferred embodiment, the first wall 11
further has a surrounding edge 111 and the second wall 12 further
has an encircling edge 121 wherein the fastening unit 30 is
arranged to selectively fasten the surrounding edge 111 of the
first wall 11 to the encircling edge 121 of the second wall 12.
[0025] The first wall 11 is tri-folded to form the top panel 113,
the front panel 114, and the base panel 115 wherein the surrounding
edge 111 is defined at edges of the top panel 113, front panel 114,
and two side edges of the base panel 115. The first wall 11 further
comprises a handle 116 formed on an outer side of the top panel 113
for a user to carry the case body 10.
[0026] The second wall 12 is tri-folded to form the back panel 123
and the two side panels 124, 125 wherein the encircling edge 123 is
defined at edges of the two side panels 124, 125 and two side edges
of the back panel 123. In other words, the respective longitudinal
edge of the back panel 123 is firmly connected to the respective
longitudinal edge of the base panel 115 to connect the first wall
11 with the second wall 12.
[0027] As shown in FIG. 3, the window opening 21 provided on the
base panel 115 from one side end to another side end thereof for
communicating the storage compartment 101 of the case body 10 to
the exterior thereof.
[0028] The carrying case further comprises an attaching unit 23 for
securely attaching the cover panel 22 to the base panel 115 so as
to enclose the window opening 21 wherein the attaching unit 23
comprises at least a first attaching element 231 provided on an
outer side the base panel 115 along edges of the window opening 21
and at least a corresponding second attaching element 232 provide
on an inner side of the cover panel 22 such that the cover panel 22
is adapted to securely attached on the base panel 115 by attaching
the second attaching element 232 to the first attaching element
231. Accordingly, the first and second attaching elements 231, 232
are pair of hoop and loop fasteners attached on the base panel 115
and the cover panel 22 by stitching respectively.
[0029] Therefore, the carrying case can be formed as a play station
for supporting and protecting the portable electronic equipment
while it is in use. Thus, the accessories, such as joysticks, can
be externally connected to the portable electronic equipment which
is disposed in the storage compartment 101 through the window
opening 21 and the top panel 113, as shown in FIG. 4. Practically,
the portable electronic equipment comprises a disc tray and outlets
provided at a rear side of the portable electronic equipment.
Therefore, when the portable electronic equipment is received in
the storage compartment 101, the disc tray can be ejected through
the top panel 113, and the portable electronic equipment can be
connected to a TV through the window opening 21. In other words,
the user does not need to take out the portable electronic
equipment from the case body 10 in order to connect with the
accessories.
[0030] The fastening device 30 comprises a first half zipper 31
firmly attached to the surrounding edge 111 of the first wall 11, a
second half zipper 32 firmly attached to the encircling edge 121 of
the second wall 12, and at least a zip locker 33 arranged to
slidably engage and disengage the first half zipper 31 with the
second half zipper 32.
[0031] The fastening device 30 further comprises two stoppers 34
securely mounted between the first and second half zippers 31, 32
for maintaining two end portions of the first and second half
zippers 31, 32 in an engaging manner. In other words, the two
stoppers 34 limit the sliding movement of the zip locker 33 to
disengage the two end portions of the first and second half zippers
31, 32, so as to prevent the first wall 11 in fully opening
position with respect to the second wall 12.
[0032] The carrying case further comprises an inclined support
arrangement 40 comprises a pair of elongated elements 41, each
having a predetermined length, spacedly extended from two edge
portions of the front panel 114 to the two side panels 124, 125 so
as to retain the case body 10 from a closed position to an
inclinedly opened position. In the closed position as shown in FIG.
1, the first wall 11 is attached to the second wall 12 to enclose
the storage compartment 101, and in the inclinedly opened position
as shown in FIG. 2, the front panel 114 is inclinedly folded up
with respect to the back panel 123.
[0033] Accordingly, the inclined supporting arrangement 40 further
comprises a pair of ring-shaped holders 42 attached to two outer
sides of the two side panels 124, 125 respectively wherein each of
the elongated elements 41, which is a strap, has one end securely
attached to an inner side of the front panel 114 and a hook-like
connector 411 provided on another end of the elongated element
adapted for mounting on the respective holder 42, so as to maintain
an inclined angle between the front panel 114 and the back panel
123 in the inclinedly opened position, as shown in FIG. 4. It is
worth to mention that the inclined angle should be an obtuse angle
to prevent the front panel 114 folding back to enclose the storage
compartment 101 accidentally.
[0034] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the carrying case further
comprises at least an accessory pocket 50 for placing accessories
including compact disc, and an auxiliary pack body 60 for storing
accessories having a bigger size such as joysticks and electric
cords.
[0035] The accessory pocket 50 is formed on the inner side of the
front panel 114 wherein the accessory pocket 50 comprises a pocket
flap 51 having three edges attaching on the front panel 114 and a
plurality of disc holding flaps 52 having three edges overlappedly
attaching on the pocket flap 51 respectively for compact discs
inserting from free edges of the disc holding flaps 52
respectively.
[0036] The auxiliary pocket 50 is formed on an outer side of the
front panel 114 wherein a zipper 51 is encirclingly provided at on
opening of the auxiliary pocket 50 for securely closing the
auxiliary pocket 50 so as to securely place the accessories inside
the auxiliary pocket 50.
[0037] As shown in FIG. 2, the carrying case further comprises a
first and second holding straps 61, 62 each having a fixed end
extended from a side edge of the back panel 123 and a pair of hoop
and loop fasteners 63, 64 provided on two free end portions of the
first and second holding straps 61, 62 for holding the portable
electronic equipment in the storage compartment 101 in position by
adjustably attaching the first and second holding straps 61, 62
together.
[0038] While the foregoing description and drawings describe the
preferred embodiment of the present invention, it should be
appreciated that certain obvious modifications, variations and
substitutions may be made without departing from the spirit and
scope of the present invention. For example, it is obvious that the
carrying case of the present invention can be used as a computer
bag for carrying a laptop wherein computer accessories can be
externally connected to the laptop through the window opening.
