Composite fabric sheet for use on sports shoes
Abstract
A composite fabric sheet for use on sports shoes are cut into
pieces and sewn to a shoe or openings or holes defined on a shoe.
The pieces sewn to an interior side of a shoe cover the openings or
holes. The composite fabric sheet has a piece of superficial cloth
and a piece of mesh inner cloth. The superficial cloth includes
weaving bands and elastic bands that are crisscross interwoven. The
weaving bands has proper thickness, width and wear resistance; the
elastic bands has proper thickness, width and elasticity to make
the interwoven composite fabric sheet extensible either in lateral
or longitudinal direction and durable. The inner cloth is an
elastic, air permeable mesh sheet which is adhered by adhesive to a
back side of the superficial cloth either in the longitudinal or
lateral direction in a random manner whereby the superficial cloth
of composite fabric sheets sewn to a shoe is extensible along with
the elastic inner cloth in wearing. At crossing points of the
interwoven weaving bands and the elastic bands free of adhesive and
the elastic bands are elastically extend to produce wide ranged
buffer air passages so as to obtain wear resistant, durable,
elastic, buffer and air permeable features in use.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to composite fabric sheet for
use on side faces of a sports shoe, and particularly to a piece of
composite fabric sheet sewn to a preset hole or opening on each
side face of a sports shoe for variation or change in style. The
composite fabric sheet is wear resistant, durable, bendable,
flexible, extensible and air permeable in nature. Thereby, such a
composite fabric sheet is practical and comfortable for use.
[0002] In general, there are several kinds of fabric sheets sewn to
the inner sides of through holes of a shoe's side faces to make a
shoe embodiment varied in styles and appealing to eyes. Such fabric
sheets appear in the following types.
[0003] 1. The first one is illustrated in the U.S. Pat. No. 586,137
issued on Jul. 13, 1897, of the so called sanitary shoes. It has an
obvious disadvantage in use. The shoe embodiment is made of leather
or plastics and has on the side faces a number of longitudinal
elongated slots in parallel to one another with a belt fixed at
both ends formed between every two slots whereby a plurality of
laterally disposed belts are interwoven in a crisscross manner with
the fixed belts to form a plurality of air permeating fissures.
These air permeating fissures can function well but the interwoven
belts are not extensible, causing a wearer to feel uncomfortable in
walking and wearing.
[0004] Another kind of prior art as shown in the U.S. Pat. No.
3,497,971 issued on Mar. 3, 1970 is related to an upper material
for shoes. This material has a disadvantage in practical use. The
upper material A is made up of interwoven belts a, c obtained by
cutting a whole piece of fabric sheet into a plurality of belts.
Then the upper material A is cut into pieces 2, 3 which are sewn to
a shoe embodiment B, the upper material A so produced is not soft
and extensible enough to make a wearer of such kind of shoes feel
comfortable.
[0005] A third prior art relates to a sports shoe made of composite
rubber sheet material disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 4,858,339 issued
on Aug. 22, 1989. This material has a following disadvantage in
practical use. The composite rubber sheet is made up of a piece of
bottom cloth 3, a sponge rubber sheet 2 of proper depth and a mesh
cloth 1 having a percentage of voids in the range of 15 to 75%. The
mesh cloth 1 is deeply engaged with the sponge rubber sheet 2. Such
a composite rubber sheet applied to sports shoes has good
extensibility, elasticity, durability and wear resistance. However,
the sponge rubber sheet 2 has poor air permeability, making a
wearer of the shoes feel uncomfortable.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] Therefore, the primary object of the present invention is to
provide a composite fabric sheet for sports shoes, which is made up
of a piece of superficial cloth and elastic inner mesh cloth, the
superficial cloth is made up of a plurality of weaving bands and
elastic bands that are interwoven together in a crisscross manner.
Such a composite fabric sheet is extensible and air permeable in
practical use so as to make a wearer of shoes feel comfortable and
convenient.
[0007] Another object of the present invention is to provide a
composite fabric sheet for sports shoes. The inner side of the
fabric sheet is a mesh cloth of elasticity and air permeability and
the outer side thereof is made up of interwoven weaving bands and
elastic bands whereby wide range air passages can be formed when
the composite fabric sheet is forced to extend to make air
permeable via the passages, rendering the interior of a shoe dry
and comfortable.
[0008] One further object of the present invention is to provide a
composite fabric sheet wherein as the superficial cloth is
extended, in the inner side at the crossing points of the weaving
bands and the elastic bands without adhesive material can be
elastically extended to naturally form a wide range buffer air
passages which can absorb compact force. Thereby, the relative
reduction of compact can enhance wear resistance and comfort of
shoes.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0009] FIG. 1 is a perspective diagram showing the exploded
components of the present invention;
[0010] FIG. 2 is a sectional diagram showing the upper face of a
shoe;
[0011] FIG. 3 is a perspective diagram showing the assembly of the
present invention;
[0012] FIG. 4 is a diagram showing the elasticity of the practical

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0013] Referring to FIG. 1, the composite fabric sheet 20 of the
present invention is applied to the side faces of a sports shoe
embodiment 10. The composite fabric sheet 20 is made up of a piece
of superficial cloth 21 and a piece of inner mesh cloth22. The
superficial cloth 21 is made up of weaving bands 211 and elastic
bands 212 crisscrossed and overlapped in the longitudinal and
lateral directions to interweave together into a composite fabric
sheet with a proper thickness and width and durability.
[0014] The weaving bands 211 are of proper thickness, width and
wear resistance. The elastic bands 212 are also of proper
thickness, width and elasticity. After the weaving bands 211 and
elastic bands 212 are interwoven, the superficial cloth 21 of the
composite fabric sheet can be naturally extended in either
longitudinal or lateral directions. The inner mesh cloth 22 is a
piece of air permeable mesh cloth provided with a plurality of
meshes and is extensible in four directions. As the composite
fabric sheet 20 is produced, as shown in FIG. 2, the superficial
cloth 21 is coated with thermal adhesive on the back thereof by
thermal rollers so as to permit the inner cloth 22 to be attached
thereto in a random manner or in either longitudinal or lateral
directions. The weaving bands 211 and elastic bands 212 of the
superficial cloth 21 are partially or alternatively engaged with
the inner mesh cloth 22 by adhesive so as to permit the crossing
points of the weaving bands 211 and the elastic bands 212 to be
free of the adhesive.
[0015] Referring to FIG. 3, in assembly, the perspective diagram of
the present invention shows that the composite fabric sheet 20 is
cut into pieces of various shapes in advance for use and the pieces
are fixedly sewn to the shoe embodiment 10 or the shoe embodiment
10 is provided with through holes or openings and corresponding
pieces of the composite fabric sheet are sewn to the shoe
embodiment 10 from the interior of the same.
[0016] Referring to FIG. 4, the operation mode of the present
invention is illustrated. The composite fabric sheet 20 of the shoe
embodiment 10 will extend and deform as a result of the insertion
of a foot; at the same time, at the crossing points of the inner
sides of the interwoven weaving bands 211 and the elastic bands 212
are free of adhesive can be extended in the elastic bands direction
so as to form a wide ranged buffer air passages 23 of proper size
so as to permit air to pass therethrough.
[0017] There are a number of advantages obtained in the present
invention given as below:
[0018] 1. The superficial cloth 21 of the composite fabric sheet 20
has elastic bands 212 in the longitudinal or lateral direction and
the associated inner mesh cloth 22 at the bottom is also elastic in
nature, permitting the composite fabric sheet applied to shoes to
extend. Thus a wearer of shoes feels easy to wear and
comfortable.
[0019] 2. The inner side of the composite fabric sheet 20 is made
of mesh cloth with elasticity and air permeability; and the outer
side of the same is made of cloth including interwoven weaving
bands 211 and elastic bands 212. As a result of the extension of
the elastic bands 212, at the crossing points with the elastic
bands 212 will form a plurality of air passages whereby ventilation
takes place among the meshes of the inner mesh cloth 22, making the
interiors of shoes dry and comfortable.
[0020] 3. When the superficial cloth 21 is extended, the air
passages formed on the inner side without adhesive at the crossing
of the weaving bands 211 and elastic bands 212, the elastic bands
212 can extend freely to form buffer-like air passages 23 which can
absorb compact, making the composite fabric sheet 20 wear resistant
as a result of the reduction of compact. It makes a wearer feel
comfortable.
