Fancy yarn spinning device
Abstract
This is a fancy yarn spinning device with the number of counts
and twisting varying according to the variation of waveforms,
designed with pre-defined waveforms, working with fixed cycles,
fixed amplitudes, or random cycles, and random amplitudes, which
serve as drafting and twisting parameters for the ring spinning
machine. This device involves a servomotor and a inverter, for
respective control of the revolutions of front, middle, and rear
rollers of the ring spinning machine and the spindle, so the
drafting rate and twisting of all areas of the ring spinning
machine can change continuously with pre-defined settings, to
produce yarns with variable number of counts and twisted
conditions. The design of variable waveforms can also achieve
different touch and visual feelings. Compared with the conventional
models that can only produce slub yarns with drastic change of
counts, or twisted yarns with simplified twist changes, this device
combines the features of the two, and is capable of producing new
yarn types with more variations, better hand touch and better
comfort.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] This invention relates to a fancy yarn spinning device,
using waveforms, as well as fixed cycles, fixed amplitudes, or
randomly variable cycles and amplitudes that serve to control the
drafting and twisting parameters for the ring spinning machine, to
produce fancy yarns with number of count and twisting changeable
with variable waveforms.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Conventional production of slub yarns involves a motor
control unit to send out a square wave signal, to accelerate motor
revolutions in a specified period of time, producing slub yarns (as
in FIG. 2) that are conspicuously different from regular yarns (as
in FIG. 1), but such slub yarns involve the following
shortcomings:
[0003] 1. The number of counts of thick places is constant.
[0004] 2. Variation of thick and thin places is monotonous, lacking
smooth transformation.
[0005] 3. Variation of thick and thin places easily creates
constant cycles.
[0006] 4. Poor hand feeling of the yarns.
[0007] Aimed at the above-mentioned shortcomings, this invention
provides a fancy yarn spinning device, particularly one with the
use of wave as spinning parameter, converting it into signals to
control a inverter and a servomotor, serving to control the
drafting and twisting of ring spinning machine and spindle winding,
for respective control of the revolutions of the front, middle and
rear rollers of the ring spinning machine and the spindle, to
produce yarns with multiple variations.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0008] The main objective of this invention is to provide a fancy
yarn spinning device, involving its servomotor and inverter to
control the revolutions of its rollers and spindles, so the yarns
can gradually change its number of counts and twisted conditions
with "wave" parameters. Meanwhile, it will avoid constant cycles in
the fabric weaving process, so the yarns can smoothly represent
outlines of thicker and thinner yarns and enhance the quality of
yarns, upgrading the hand touch and feeling of the yarns, in order
to produce yarns with widely variable outlines and best
comfort.
[0009] The aforementioned device has the following
characteristics:
[0010] 1. Regular sine wave signals are fed into the spinning
program, to produce fancy yarns with variable thickness.
[0011] 2. During the spinning process, the amplitudes and cycles of
waveforms can be randomly adjusted to produce fancy yarns with
varied amplitudes and cycles.
[0012] 3. Sine waveform signals of different cycles and amplitudes
can be overlapped and synthesized to become another new waveform
signals, which serve as the spinning parameters for this device to
spin fancy yarns with various waveforms.
[0013] 4. Summing up the above, this device can produce fancy yarns
of various waveform combinations, amplitudes and frequencies, by
regular or random settings.
[0014] As shown in FIG. 8, the "wave" composition includes
"waveform" 10, "frequency" 11 and "amplitude" 12. In mathematical
expression, any waveforms can be defined as the composition of sine
waves of different amplitudes and frequencies. For example,
serrated waveform 13 is composed of several different sine
waveforms 15, 16, as shown in FIG. 9. Square waveform 14 is
composed of various different sine waveforms 17, 18, as shown in
FIG. 10. Therefore, any imaginable waveforms can be expressed
through the combinations of sine wave signals.
[0015] The "wave" serving as control parameters for the production
of yarns by this device can set the conditions for the change of
number of counts, or serve as the control for twisting of yarns, so
the change of waveforms, frequency and amplitudes can change the
number of counts and twisted condition of the fancy yarns.
Therefore, the finished yarns will smoothly represent the outlines
of their thick and thin places to achieve the aforementioned
objective.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0028] The invention of fancy yarn spinning device is based on
preset waveforms, in combination with fixed cycles, fixed
amplitudes, or random variation cycles, random variation
amplitudes, which serve as drafting and twisting parameters for the
control of the ring spinning machine, to make fancy yarns with the
number of counts and twists variable according to waveform
variations.
[0029] The aforementioned fancy yarns including:
[0030] 1. Regular sine wave signals are keyed into the spinning
program, to spin fancy yarns with varying thickness, the outline of
the yarns shown in FIG. 3.
[0031] 2. During the spinning process, the amplitude and cycle of
the waveforms are randomly adjusted to spin fancy yarns with
varying amplitudes and cycles, the outline of the yarns shown in
FIGS. 4 and 5.
[0032] 3. Sine wave signals of different cycles and amplitudes are
overlapped and synthesized to become new type of waveform signals,
which serves as spinning parameters to spin fancy yarns of all
waveforms, the outline of the yarns shown in FIG. 6.
[0033] 4. Summing up the above, fancy yarns of different waveform
combinations, amplitudes and frequencies are made by regular or
random spinning processes, the outline of the yarns shown in FIG.
7.
[0034] In mechanical design, the ring spinning machine 30 has an
industrial computer 22 as its main control device, with the
installation of servo motor to control the revolutions of the
middle and rear rollers and control the variation of number yarn
counts. Meanwhile, the front roller and spindle serve to control
the variation of twisted degree, in combination with computer
waveform planning 20 and parameter setting 21, then the data are
transmitted by the computer to the programmable control unit 23 to
control the operation of the spinning frame.
[0035] As shown in FIG. 11 which illustrates the flowchart of this
system as follows:
[0036] After the waveform planning 20 is processed with parameter
setting 21, it goes to the industrial computer 22. This industrial
computer 20 then converts the data to mathematical functional
forms, the output terminal in connection with the programmable
control unit 23, for respective control of the ring spinning
machine 30 and the steel plate driver 24, the spindle motor driver
25, the front roller driver 26, the middle roller driver 27, and
the rear roller driver 28, so the revolutions of all drivers of the
ring spinning machine 30, such as the yarn drafting multiplying
rate, the twisted degree and the spindle winding, etc. can vary
according to the change of parameters, in order to make yarn
products with varied waveforms.
[0037] The aforementioned waveform planning 20 can be converted to
mathematical functions, by way of various synthesized signals, such
as AUDIO CD, with parameter setting 21, through the industrial
computer 22, and written into yarn spinning software. The
programmable control unit 23 respectively controls all drivers on
the ring spinning machine30, so the drafting rate, the twisting and
spindle winding during the operation of the ring spinning machine
30 can vary according to the change of parameters, thus achieving
the objectives of making high-quality and excellent-touch yarn
products.
[0038] The above parameter setting 21 includes the cycle setting,
frequency setting and random setting of synthesized signals.
[0039] The yarns made by this device has at least the following
features:
[0040] 1. The yarns will have no fixed cycles due to the variation
of waveforms.
[0041] 2. The addition of software/hardware design will control the
drafting and twisting and winding of the ring spinning machine, to
overcome the defects of poor hand touch.
[0042] 3. The outlines of thickness can be smoothly
represented.
[0043] 4. The feel and touch of the yarns can be better than
regular yarns and conventional slub yarns.
[0044] 5. Any waveforms or other harmonic waveforms in nature can
be added to serve as the basis for the variation of yarn
outlines.
[0045] 6. Increase of space for variation of yarn design.
[0046] 7. Full development of servomotor's applications without
addition of any hardware.
[0047] 8. Variation can be extended beyond the density of thread,
including the length, twist and cycle of thick and thinner
sections.
[0048] This device enables full development of servomotor's
application aspects, extending yarn variation beyond thread
density, such as the length, twist or cycle of thicker and thinner
sections, thus significantly improves on the shortcomings of
conventional fancy yarns, and upgrade the quality of yarns.
[0049] The above-mentioned device involves preset waveforms that
serve to control the drafting and twisting of ring spinning machine
and the winding parameter of spindle, respectively controlling the
revolutions of the front, middle and rear rollers of the ring
spinner and the spindle, to produce fancy yarns with new rhythms.
With the capability of upgrading spinning efficiency and
controlling yarn quality, as well as enhancing its industrial
applications, this device is unprecedented.
