Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a pedicure sock and more
particularly pertains to facilitating a pedicure while allowing a
person to walk while their toenails are drying.
[0002] The use of pedicure devices is known in the prior art. More
specifically, pedicure devices heretofore devised and utilized for
the purpose of facilitating pedicures are known to consist
basically of familiar, expected and obvious structural
configurations, notwithstanding the myriad of designs encompassed
by the crowded prior art which have been developed for the
fulfillment of countless objectives and requirements.
[0003] By way of example, U.S. Pat. No. 5,623,734 to Pugliatti
discloses a pedicure sock for keeping the foot warm, comprised of
individual stalls for covering the toes and leaving the nails
exposed. U.S. Pat. No. 5,906,007 to Roberts discloses an article of
footwear with a plurality of open-ended sheaths for individual toes
for use in performing a pedicure. U.S. Pat. No. Des. 381,465 to
Estell discloses the ornamental design for a pedicure aid for
wearing on the foot and separating toes.
[0004] While these devices fulfill their respective, particular
objective and requirements, the aforementioned patents do not
describe a pedicure sock for facilitating a pedicure while allowing
a person to walk while their toenails are drying.
[0005] In this respect, the pedicure sock according to the present
invention substantially departs from the conventional concepts and
designs of the prior art, and in doing so provides an apparatus
primarily developed for the purpose of facilitating a pedicure
while allowing a person to walk while their toenails are
drying.
[0006] Therefore, it can be appreciated that there exists a
continuing need for a new and improved pedicure sock which can be
used for facilitating a pedicure while allowing a person to walk
while their toenails are drying. In this regard, the present
invention substantially fulfills this need.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0007] In the view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the
known types of pedicure devices now present in the prior art, the
present invention provides an improved pedicure sock. As such, the
general purpose of the present invention, which will be described
subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a new and improved
pedicure sock which has all the advantages of the prior art and
none of the disadvantages.
[0008] To attain this, the present invention essentially comprises
a sock portion dimensioned for receiving a foot of an individual
therein. The sock portion has an open upper end for receiving the
foot therein. The sock portion has a front portion and a back
portion. The front portion has five spaced apart apertures
therethrough to allow toes of the foot to extend outwardly of the
sock portion. The apertures each include side spacers to allow the
toes of the foot to be separated. A padded shoe portion is secured
to a lower surface of the sock portion. The padded shoe portion is
dimensioned for supporting the foot of the individual thereon. The
padded shoe portion includes an enlarged forward section for
supporting the toes of the foot thereon. The enlarged forward
section includes a raised peripheral arcuate lip secured
thereto.
[0009] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more
important features of the invention in order that the detailed

invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced
and carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that
the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose
of description and should not be regarded as limiting.
[0011] As such, those skilled in the art will appreciate that the
conception, upon which this disclosure is based, may readily be
utilized as a basis for the designing of other structures, methods
and systems for carrying out the several purposes of the present
invention. It is important, therefore, that the claims be regarded
as including such equivalent constructions insofar as they do not
depart from the spirit and scope of the present invention.
[0012] It is therefore an object of the present invention to
provide a new and improved pedicure sock which has all the
advantages of the prior art pedicure devices and none of the
disadvantages.
[0013] It is another object of the present invention to provide a
new and improved pedicure sock which may be easily and efficiently
manufactured and marketed.
[0014] It is a further object of the present invention to provide a
new and improved pedicure sock which is of durable and reliable
construction.
[0015] An even further object of the present invention is to
provide a new and improved pedicure sock which is susceptible of a
low cost of manufacture with regard to both materials and labor,
and which accordingly is then susceptible of low prices of sale to
the consuming public, thereby making such a pedicure sock
economically available to the buying public.
[0016] Even still another object of the present invention is to
provide a new and improved pedicure sock for facilitating a
pedicure while allowing a person to walk while their toenails are
drying.
[0017] Lastly, it is an object of the present invention to provide
a new and improved pedicure sock including a sock portion
dimensioned for receiving a foot of an individual therein. The sock
portion has an open upper end for receiving the foot therein. The
sock portion has a front portion and a back portion. The front
portion has five spaced apart apertures therethrough to allow toes
of the foot to extend outwardly of the sock portion. A padded
flexible shoe portion is secured to a lower surface of the sock
