Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] The present invention relates to a carrying device, and more
particularly to a tool carrying device.
[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art
[0004] Typically, the workers have a waist belt engaged on the
waist portion thereof and a number of sleeves provided on the waist
belt for receiving and carrying tool members. The sleeves are
arranged for receiving some of the tool members. The other tool
members may not be received in the sleeves. In addition, no
retaining devices may be used for solidly securing the tool members
to the sleeves and for preventing the tool members from being
disengaged from the sleeves when the users are tilted or the
like.
[0005] The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate
the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional tool carrying
devices.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide
a tool carrying device for carrying various kinds of tool
members.
[0007] The other objective of the present invention is to provide a
tool carrying device having a latching or retaining device for
solidly retaining the tool members in the tool carrying device and
for preventing the tool members from being disengaged from the tool
carrying device inadvertently.
[0008] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is
provided a tool carrying device comprising a socket including a
channel formed therein, and a tool member including a head provided
thereon and detachably engaged into the channel for detachably
securing the tool member to the socket.
[0009] The socket includes a front wall having a slot formed
therein, the tool member includes an extension for slidably engaged
into the slot of the socket, the head is provided on the
extension.
[0010] The front wall of the socket includes an orifice formed
therein and communicating with the slot of the socket and having a
diameter greater than a width of the slot of the socket, the
extension includes a cut surface formed therein for allowing the
extension to engage through the slot and into the orifice of the
socket.
[0011] A bracket is further provided and has the socket provided
thereon. The tool member includes a block having the head provided
thereon, and means for securing the block to the tool member.
[0012] The securing means includes a fastener belt for securing the
block to the tool member, and includes at least one aperture formed
in the block for receiving the fastener belt and for allowing the
fastener belt to secure the block to the tool member.
[0013] The block includes a curved surface formed therein and a
plurality of teeth formed on the curved surface thereof for
engaging with the tool member.
[0014] Further objectives and advantages of the present invention
will become apparent from a careful reading of a detailed
description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to
accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0015] FIGS. 1 and 2 are perspective views showing the operation of
a tool carrying device in accordance with the present
invention;
[0016] FIGS. 3 and 4 are exploded views showing two types of the
securing device for the tool carrying device; and
[0017] FIG. 5 is a perspective view showing the other embodiment of
the tool carrying device.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0018] Referring to the drawings, and initially to FIGS. 1 and 2, a
tool carrying device in accordance with the present invention
comprises one or more C-shaped brackets 40 for slidably attaching
onto a belt 60 (FIG. 2), a beam 70 (FIG. 1) or the like. The belt
60 may be attached onto a user with a buckle device 61 or the like.
The beam 70 may be secured onto a supporting surface or a wall or
the like. The brackets 40 each includes a U-shaped socket 401
provided thereon and having a channel 402 formed therein, and
having an orifice 42 and a slot 41 formed in a front wall 403
thereof. The width of the slot 41 is smaller than the diameter of
the orifice 42.
[0019] Referring next to FIGS. 3 and 4, the tool carrying device
includes a block 20 having one or more apertures 22 formed therein
for threading with fastener belts 30, and having a surface 23, such
as a curved surface 23, and having a number of teeth 24 formed on
the surface 23 for engaging with the tool members 50 (FIGS. 1, 2).
The blocks 20 each includes an extension 12 extended therefrom and
having a cut-off portion or a flat surface 13 formed therein, and a
head 10 formed or provided on the end of the extension 12. The
block 20 may include a panel 27 extended therefrom or perpendicular
thereto for solidly engaging with the tool members 50.
Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 5, the fastener belts 30 may be
formed integral with the block 20 with a molding or mold injection
process.
[0020] In operation, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the block 20 may be
secured onto various kinds of tool members 50, such as the hand
drills, the plier devices, the hammers, the wrenches, the screw
drivers, the sprayer guns, etc., with the fastener belts 30. The
head 10 is then engaged into the channel 402 of the socket 401 by
engaging the extension 12 through the slot 41 into the orifice 42
of the socket 401. The extension 12 may be engaged through the slot
41 of the socket 401 by rotating the cut-off portion or the cut
surface 13 of the extension 12 relative to the socket 401, in which
the extension 12 having the cut-off portion or the cut surface 13
formed thereon has a width narrower than that of the extension 12
such that the extension 12 may be engaged through the slot 41 of
the socket 401. After the extension 12 has been engaged through the
slot 41 of the socket 401, the cut-off portion or the cut surface
13 of the extension 12 is arranged to be rotated toward the upper
portion of the extension 12 by the weight of the tool member 50
such that the extension 12 may be solidly retained in the orifice
42 of the socket 401 and may be prevented from being disengaged
from the socket 401 of the tool carrying device inadvertently.
[0021] The tool members 50 may each include a head 10 and an
extension 12 extended or provided thereon directly for engaging
onto the socket 401. As shown in FIG. 1, the head 10 and the
extension 12 may also be extended or provided on a sleeve 80 that
may be used for receiving various kinds of tool members 50.
[0022] Accordingly, the tool carrying device in accordance with the
present invention may be used for carrying various kinds of tool
members, and includes a latching or retaining device for solidly
retaining the tool members in the tool carrying device and for
preventing the tool members from being disengaged from the tool
carrying device inadvertently.
[0023] Although this invention has been described with a certain
degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present
disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous
changes in the detailed construction and the combination and
arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the
spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
