DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
[0021] Referring to FIG. 1, there is shown a perspective exploded
view of the umbrella jacket of the present invention. As shown in
the figure, the umbrella tip 41 of the umbrella 4 can be inserted
into the center hole 61 of the water-guiding plug 6. The stopper 62
located on the top end of the guiding plug 6 can be inserted into
the bottom section of the water-collection collar 1 and is secured
by a plurality of protruded ribs 18 provided at the inner wall of
the water-collection collar 1. The water-collection collar 1 can
pass through the umbrella jacket 2 formed from a plurality of
multiple segments of mounting rings 21. A screw ring 3 is mounted
to the hollow screw seat 11 at the top end of the water-collection
collar 1 such that the umbrella jacket 2 cannot be dislocated from
the water-collection collar 1 and is combined with the umbrella 4
as a unit, which is shown in FIG. 2. When the multiple segments of
the mounting rings 2 are extended, the entire umbrella 4 is
enclosed within the umbrella jacket 2.
[0022] FIG. 3 shows the retraction of the mounting rings 21 into a
single unit before the umbrella 4 is opened.
[0023] As shown in FIG. 4, when the umbrella jacket 2 is not in
use, the screw ring is released and the umbrella jacket 2 can be
removed from the water-collection collar 1, and the
water-collection collar 1 is retrained at the umbrella tip 41. The
umbrella fabric of the umbrella 4 is opened to provide its function
to block sunlight.
[0024] FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the water-collection collar.
As shown in the figure, the hollow screw seat 11 is provided with a
water-discharging valve 12 and an extended spring 13. The
discharging valve 12 has a teeth-like valve rod 122 extended from
the hollow cap 121, and the valve rod 122 has a neck portion 123
and a conic shaped inverted hook 124. The bottom section of the
hollow cap 121 is provided with a plurality of water discharging
holes 125. The spring 13 is located at the outer surrounding of the
teeth-like valve rod 122 and located within the hollow cap 121. The
top portion of the screw seat 11 is a partition board 14 having a
through hole 15. A leakage proof pad 16 is provided on the
partition board 14 and the conic inverted hook 124 of the water
discharging valve 12 is located behind the through hole and the pad
16. The pad 16 is located at the neck portion 123. At this
instance, the water-discharging valve 12 is secured at the hollow
screw seat 11, as shown in FIG. 6. FIG. 6 is a schematic view
showing the collection of water in the water-collection collar. The
guiding plug 6 has a stopper 62 to mount the plug 6 onto the hole
of the water-collection collar 1. The surface of the stopper 62 is
provided with a plurality of vertical guiding grooves 63 and the
collected water will flow downward. A plurality of blocking blocks
64 on the stopper 62 is used to block the hole, and the conic
jacket 65 on the blocking block 64 is used to adapt the umbrella
tip. The water-discharging valve 12 is located at the bottom end of
the water-collection collar 1. The extension of the spring 13
causes the cap 121 to protruded outside the hollow screw seat 11
and at the same time, the inverted hook 124 urges the pad 16 and
blocks the hole 15. Thus, the collected water 5 in the
water-collection collar 1 cannot be drained out through the hole
15.
[0025] FIG. 7 is a sectional view of the umbrella with the umbrella
jacket, wherein water has been discharged. The user presses the
water-discharging valve 12 downward to the ground, and the
discharging value 12 moves upward. The inverted hook 124 and the
pad 16 do not block the hole 15, and the collected water 5 can be
discharged through the hole 15. Due to the vertical teeth-shaped
grooves 122a (refer to FIG. 8), the collected water 5 will flow
downward along the teeth-shaped grooves 122a, and finally, the
water is discharged through the water-discharging hole 125 at the
bottom of the hollow cap 121.
[0026] FIG. 9 is the structural view of the mounting rings 21. The
mounting ring 21 is one segment of the umbrella jacket, which is a
conic (tapered) shape. The inner wall of the mounting ring 21 has a
plurality of vertical protruded stripes 211, and the height of the
protruded stripes 211 is gradually becoming lower from bottom to
the top. The inner wall ring at the top edge of the mounting ring
21 is provided with a protruded ring 213, and the inner wall ring
of the bottom edge is provided with a plurality of arch-shaped
protruded blocking block 214. The external wall of the bottom edge
is mounted with a ring of external protruded ring 215.
[0027] Referring to FIG. 10, there is shown the retraction of the
mounting ring 21. In the preferred embodiment, two mounting rings
21 are employed. When the upper mounting ring 21 is to be retracted
into the lower mounting ring 21, the vertical protruded stripe 211
will rub against the external protruded ring 215 until the external
protruded ring 215 passes beyond the protrusion 212', that is, it
is positioned between the protrusion 212' and the blocking block
214', as shown in FIG. 11. On the other hand, when the mounting
rings 21 are to be extended, the upper and the bottom mounting ring
21 are extended, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7. The external protruded
ring 215 is blocked by the inner protruded ring 213' of the
mounting ring 21 and extension further of the mounting ring is
blocked.
[0028] FIG. 12 is a schematic view showing the retraction of the
umbrella jacket 2. The bottom edge of water-collection collar 1 is
an external protruded ring 17 and the external protruded ring 17 is
positioned between the protrusion 212 and the blocking block 214,
and the inner protruded ring 213 at the top end of the first
mounting ring 21 is blocked by the screw ring such that the first
mounting ring 21 will not dislocate from the water collection
collar 1. If the screw ring 3 is removed from the screw seat 11 of
the top end of the water-collection collar 1, the top end of the
first mounting ring 21 will not be blocked and therefore, the first
ring 21 can be dislocated from the water-collection collar 1.
[0029] While the invention has been described with respect to
preferred embodiment, it will be clear to those skilled in the art
that modifications and improvements may be made to the invention
without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
Therefore, the invention is not to be limited by the specific
illustrative embodiment, but only by the scope of the appended
claims.
