Subject: proposed examiner’s amendment for METIUS, serial no. 88586201

Dear Duy Thai,

I am the trademark examining attorney for this application and I am in receipt of your response (METIUS, serial no. 88586201). There is a minor issue that needs to be resolved before this application can move to publication. The remaining issues not mentioned in the e-mail have been satisfied. I would be happy to enter any changes for you by examiner’s amendment, based on your reply to this e-mail or a phone call or voicemail granting permission.

The description of goods requires some minor amendments. The wording “accessories” appears to be outside the scope of the original application, because this wording did not appear in the application. Accessories to various Class 7 machines can be interpreted to encompass different goods from the actual parts of the machines. This added wording is suggested to be removed to be within the scope of the application. I have listed my proposed amended descriptions below, with suggested items to remove with a line through them:

Class 7: Semiconductor manufacturing machines; semiconductor substrates manufacturing machines; semiconductor wafer processing equipment; semiconductor wafer processing machines; integrated parts of and accessories of equipment for the manufacture, processing, and fabrication of semiconductors; integrated parts of and accessories of sub-systems containing sensors, micro-processors, and firmware, used on semiconductor manufacturing machines; technology for the manufacture, processing, and fabrication of semiconductors, namely, semiconductor manufacturing machines, semiconductor wafer processing equipment, semiconductor substrates manufacturing machines, and filters and purifiers for removing contaminants from gases used in the semiconductor industry

Please let me know how you want to proceed or if you have any questions by 5 p.m. EST Wednesday, February 12. At that time, I will issue an Office Action to give you additional time to respond. Thank you.
