OFFICE SEARCH: The examining attorney has searched the Office records and has found no similar registered or pending mark which would bar registration under Trademark Act Section 2(d), 15 U.S.C. Section 1052(d). TMEP section 704.02.

In accordance with the authorization granted by Susan Neuberger Weller on February 6, 2003, the application has been AMENDED as indicated below. If the identification of goods or services has been amended, please note that any future amendments must be in accordance with 37 C.F.R. 2.71(a); TMEP section 1402.07(e). Please advise the undersigned if there is an objection to the amendment.
The English translation of “SAMSUNG” is “THREE STARS”.
The language “construction engineering” is removed from the Class 37 recitation of services and added to the Class 42 recitation of services.
The language “construction management [supervision]” found in the Class 37 recitation of services is amended to “construction management”.
The language “communications by telephone” is deleted from the Class 38 recitation of services.
The language “geological survey” in the Class 42 recitation of services is amended to “geological surveying”.
This case will be given priority as an amended case if you respond to the requirements stated below within two months.
The language “engine maintenance and repair” and “rebuilding engines” in the Class 37 recitation of services is indefinite as the type of engines, (e.g. automobile) must be specified.
The language “installation of water supply and drainage” in Class 37 is indefinite. The applicant may adopt the following, if accurate: “installation of water supply and drainage systems”.
The language “installation, maintenance and repair of heating or freezing apparatus” in Class 37 is indefinite. The applicant may adopt the following, if accurate: “installation, maintenance and repair of heating and freezing apparatus, namely, _______” (hot water heaters, electric heaters for commercial use, freezers).
The language “satellite broadcasting” in the Class 38 recitation of services is indefinite. The applicant may adopt “satellite transmission services” if accurate.
The language “architecture” in the Class 42 recitation of services is indefinite. The applicant may adopt “architectural design” if accurate.

Fee increase effective January 1, 2003
Effective January 1, 2003, the fee for filing an application for trademark registration will be increased to $335.00 per International Class. The USPTO will not accord a filing date to applications that are filed on or after that date that are not accompanied by a minimum of $335.00.
Additionally, the fee for amending an existing application to add an additional class or classes of goods/services will be $335.00 per class for classes added on or after January 1, 2003.
