Disposable Urinal

Abstract

A transparent bag is provided having scale markings thereon to indicate the quantity of the content and provided with a stretch knit neck which engages over the penis to maintain the contact between the penis and the bag. Provision is made for connecting the bag to straps which can encircle the leg to support the urinal while the user is standing or walking. The complete bag and knitted neck is discarded as a unit with the holding straps alone being retained for reuse.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to urinals which are attached to the body and the penis so that uncontrolled urination can be contained for later disposition.

2. Description of the Prior Art

Prior art disposable urinals have each involved parts such as necks, seals and the like which support the urine bag and are retained when the urine bag is discarded. This of course requires that the necks, seals and the like be thoroughly washed and sterilized between uses in order to prevent infection of the user.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention includes a transparent plastic bag having markings thereon to indicate the quantity of the contents and loops for receiving leg-encircling belts which clamp the bag to the leg. A stretch knitted neck is fastened to the upper end of the bag for engaging over the penis to hold the penis to the top of the bag so that urine therefrom will be received in the bag.

The primary object of the invention is to provide a completely disposable urinal which is inexpensive to manufacture, simple to attach and which will retain the urine without spilling.

Other objects and advantages will become apparent in the following specification when considered in light of the attached drawings.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring now to the drawings in detail wherein like reference characters indicate like parts throughout the several figures, the reference numeral 10 indicates generally a disposable urinal constructed in accordance with the invention.

The disposable urinal 10 includes a generally rectangular bag 11 having a generally rectangular front wall 12, a generally rectangular rear wall 13 and oppositely disposed accordion folding sidewalls 14, 15 respectively. The front and rear walls 12, 13 are sealed together at their lower meeting edge 16. The bag 11 is formed completely of transparent plastic and has indicia marks 17 printed thereon to indicate the quantity of the contents.

An upstanding strap 18 is secured to the rear wall 13 to form a pair of loops 19 which are adapted to receive a belt (not shown) which can encircle the leg of the user to strap the bag 11 thereto.

A stretch knitted tubular neck 20 has a width substantially less than that of the bag 11 and is secured to the upper edge thereof by a line of stitching 21 which encompasses the lower edge of the tubular neck 20 and the center portion of the upper edge of the bag 11. Stitching 22 extends from each side of the tubular neck 20 to the side edges of the bag 11 to seal the top of the bag 11.

In the use and operation of the invention, the tubular neck 20 is pulled over the penis much in the same way as donning a stocking with the loops 19 lying against the leg. A strap or belt is then placed through the loop and about the leg, fastening the bag 11 to the leg. As the bag becomes full of urine it is removed and discarded and a new bag 11 is attached to the penis in the same manner.

Having thus described the preferred embodiment of the invention, it should be understood that numerous structural modifications and adaptations may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Claims

I claim:

1. A disposable urinal including a sealed, unitary, transparent plastic bag, a stretch knit tubular neck fixedly secured directly to the upper inlet end of said bag and projecting upwardly therefrom for engaging about and completely encompassing the penis of the user, and means for securing said bag to the leg of the user.
