Dear Mr. Putt,
I am the assigned trademark examiner for the above-referenced applications. I have reviewed the applications and the applicant must clarify its domicile address.
Applicants are required to supply a domicile address – for a corporation, this is generally the physical address of the applicant’s headquarters – for the purposes of determining whether the applicant is domiciled in the US or in a foreign country. Currently, the applicant’s address is listed as “903 South Main Street, P.O. Box 460” in Middlebury, Indiana. Because post office boxes generally represent an off-site location for the collection of mail, they do not generally qualify as domicile addresses. However, based on Google Maps and the applicant’s website, it appears that “903 South Main Street” may, in fact, be the physical location of applicant’s headquarters, and therefore that the PO Box listed may refer to an internal mailbox. Can you confirm whether this is the case?
