ARGUMENT(S)
Applicant has attempted to amend the goods and services listing as suggested by the Examiner where appropriate. However, Applicant herein notes several recurring points. First, with respect to the Examiner's suggestion that Applicant clarify its recitations relating to "computer programs for images processing" and the like, Applicant respectfully argues that such recitations need not be further elaborated upon. The Trademark ID Manual specifically lists "Downloadable computer software for processing digital images" as an acceptable listing. Applicant has therefore tried to "tidy up" such recitations, but has not further elaborated on what is meant by "processing" in these entries. Second, with respect to entries that recited "signal processing," Applicant has generally removed such recitations, as essentially any processing will include signal processing. Applicant believes (and the Office appears to agree) that such a recitation is redundant and unnecessary. Third, with respect to the Examiner's requests that things such as "deep learning" be clarified. Applicant respectfully argues that things like "deep learning," "machine learning," "un-supervised learning," etc., are well understood terms of art in these fields. Applicant believes that attempting to clarify them in this recitation would unduly lengthen and confuse the overall recitation, such that the resulting language would be highly undesirable and difficult to understand. Applicant has therefore not attempted to do so in this response, and will rely solely on its argument that such terms are well understood in this field. The Examiner notes that Applicant has not filed a copy of the foreign registration despite filing with a 44(e) filing basis. Applicant is confused by this requirement from the Examiner, as Applicant has not filed with a 44(e) filing basis, but rather under 44(d). As such, Applicant will convert to 44(e) once the foreign registration issues (which it has not yet done), and provide a copy of the registration certificate at that time. Applicant has re-checked its application, which specifies 44(d) rather than 44(e). If the Examiner is seeing something else, Applicant is happy to discuss, though Applicant wonders if this is simply a mistake within the USPTO's systems?
