The literal element of the mark consists of MEKONNEN EPIC. The applicant is not claiming color as a feature of the mark. The mark consists of the head of the character Mekonnen followed by the word logo MEKONNEN EPIC. This logo submission is in black and white. The drawing of the head represents a young Ethiopian man with a large Afro-hairstyle with a black outline and two shades of a gray color. The outer layer is a medium gray and the inner layer is a darker gray. The facial features of the drawing has a triangular-shaped face with a rather broad forehead and normals down to a pointy chin. He has large eyes under furrowed eyebrows that give him a serious expression on his face. His nose is shaped like an arrow pointing downwards and his lips about the same width as his nose. There is a slight mustache between his nose and lips, and small stubble of beard on his chin. The word logo MEKONNEN EPIC uses the font style Sylph with thick black outline and white fill color. The first letter "M" and the "E" in EPIC are larger than the rest of the letters in the words at 86 point size for both. The letter "M" measures at 1-inch width by 0.9 height and the "E" is 0.74 inches width by 0.9 height. The rest of the letters EKONNEN and PIC are at 63 points size. The letter "K" has been adjusted from the original Sylph font design which top right portion was more curved and made it look like the letter "R". I adjusted the top right portion so its straighten out to look more like a "K". This logo and parts of it will be used in my book publications, novels, graphic novels, and comic book series. The logo and drawing design will also be printed on merchandise like t-shirts, mugs, posters, calendars, and more. In total, the complete logo drawing with the word logo together measures at 9.2 inches width by 1.4 inches height.

A photo of the inside cover illustration in the same novel showing the title MEKONNEN EPIC at the top, and the character's head partially on top the lower part of the two letter Ns. A copy of the illustrated book Mekonnen, An Introductory Guide to the Characters, Creatures and Places, copyright 2008. These specimens may display the upper right portion of the letter K in MEKONNEN in the original Sylph font curved style that looks more like the letter R, but it has been slightly redesigned, moving forward the letter K has been straightened at that portion as demonstrated in the logo mark in the submitted file.

This logo design mark and drawing has been used in this way and other variations of the design. in this form/class being claimed at this time (id 016 for novels and graphic novels), and in other forms not being claim at this time since 2006. The logo MEKONNEN or MEKONNEN EPIC (as all capital letters or initial capital letters), with and without the head drawing, has been used in my website, Mekonnenepic.com, on t-shirts, mugs, posters/signage, calendars, messager bags and bookmarks in commerce since 2009 on merchandises from my online store and at vendor events
