Subject: Re 4 SYNOVUS Trademark Applications, #88342019, 88341308, 88341316 and 88344442
Dear Mr. Gropper
I am the trademark examining attorney to whom these applications have been assigned. There are minor issues that we can resolve by examiner's amendment, based on your reply to this email or a phone call.
For the 3 SYNOVUS applications (88341308 SYNOVUS INSPIRE, 88341316 SYNOVUS PLUS and 88344442 MY SYNOVUS), please authorize me to enter the following statement that appears in most of the prior registrations for this mark:
n The wording “SYNOVUS” has no meaning in a foreign language.
For SY and design, 88342019, please authorize me to enter the following amended mark description:
n The mark consists of the stylized letters “SY” superimposed upon a square shaded background.
For the SY design mark, the applicant must also submit a new specimen because the current specimen only shows the mark used as an app, and not used by the applicant to promote its provision of banking services. Once I have amended the mark description, I can issue a priority Office action on the specimen issue.
I would be happy to enter these amendments for you, and move the 3 SYNOVUS applications forward. Please tell me how you want to proceed or if you have questions. There is no fee due for my making these changes for you.
If you prefer that I issue priority Office actions, rather than resolving this by examiner's amendment, then please let me know. Thank you and enjoy your weekend.
