Good afternoon Mr. Herz,

I am the trademark examining attorney handling the trademark applications for OHANA and AHANO (Serial Nos. 88280309 and 88287543). I need to make a small amendment to each application in order to move them forward.

1)      For OHANO, I need to add the following translation statement to the record:

The English translation of the word “OHANA” in the mark is “FAMILY”.

2)      For AHANO, I need to add the following negative translation statement to the record:

The wording “AHANO” has no meaning in a foreign language.

If these amendments are acceptable, I’ll issue an Examiner’s Amendment in each application and conduct my final review before approving the marks for publication. Please let me know by Wednesday, April 17.

FYI, I am also handling the co-pending application for MAHALO (Serial No. 88280310). No translation statement is required because the term appears in English language dictionaries. However, the application will be suspended pending two prior-filed pending application. I will be sending the suspension letter shortly.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me.

Thanks and best regards,

Marynelle
