Good afternoon

I am the examining attorney from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that has been assigned to review the application you filed for trademark protection, Application Serial No. 88083694, for the mark SAAPEME.

I have completed my review of the application and have determined the following requirements must be addressed before the application can be moved forward.  These requirements can be corrected here at the Office using an examiners amendment.

1.      Requirements:  Translation of the mark.

To permit proper examination of the application, applicant must indicate if the wording in the mark has an English translation. TMEP §809.  If the wording has meaning in a foreign language, then the applicant must provide a translation.  In the alternative, if the wording does not have a meaning then the applicant may simply state that the mark does not have a meaning in a foreign language.

You may respond with either:

The English translation of “SAAPEME” is “_________”.

                                             or

The wording SAAPEME does not have meaning in a foreign language.

Once I have your response I can enter it into the record and complete examination of the application.  If the amendments are not acceptable or if you have further questions, please feel free to email me at the below email address.

I must take action on your application by close of business on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.  If I do not hear from you regarding the above mentioned requirements by that time, I will issue an Office Action with the information contained therein and you will have six (6) months to respond to the Office Action.

Thank you
