My name is Brin Desai, and I am an examining attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  I am reviewing the trademark applications for NU LOOK HOME DESIGN, INC., and there are a few issues that I’d like to discuss with you about the application.  The applications are:

The wording “home improvement services” is indefinite and overly broad, because it is not clear as written that this involves a construction-type service, and this information is necessary for classification purposes.  Therefore, applicant must amend to further clarify and may adopt the following, if accurate:

 

“home improvement services in the nature of home renovation; home remodeling services; roofing consultation; installation, repair and maintenance services for roofs; roofing services; roofing contracting; exterior home remodeling; installation, maintenance and repair services for gutters, siding, windows and doors” in International Class 037.

 

MARK DESCRIPTION

Applies to SN 87713565 (PATRICK & THOMAS – color) and SN 87713533 (P T – color)

 

The mark description must reference the location of the colors.  The following amendments are suggested:

 

               For SN 87713565:  The mark consists of the wording “PATRICK & THOMAS” in stylized blue font.

 

               For SN 87713533:  The mark consists of the design of two stylized orange ampersands in a lattice-like design, which form, in part, the stylized letters "P" and "T".

 

OWNER NAME

Applies to SN 87713503 (P T – B&W)

 

It appears there may have been a typographical error in the owner name.  The owner is identified as NU LOOK HME DESIGN, INC.  If applicant can confirm that this entity did not exist, and that the owner name should be NU LOOK HOME DESIGN, INC., then this change may be entered via an examiner’s amendment. 

 

 

There were no other issues with the applications.
