The trademark examining attorney has searched the Office’s database of registered and pending marks and has found no conflicting marks that would bar registration under Trademark Act Section 2(d). TMEP §704.02; see 15 U.S.C. §1052(d).
Identification of Goods
Class 007
The applicant identified its goods as “computer hardware and software as integral components of clothes washing machines for the control of said machines; control systems as integral components of washing machines.”
Class 009
The applicant identified its goods as “electrical integrated control systems for use in the field of laundry; electronic control systems for machines.”
The wording in the identification of goods is indefinite and must be clarified to specify the components of the systems. See TMEP §1402.01.
Class 011
The applicant identified its goods as “computer hardware and software as integral components of clothes drying machines for the control of said machines; control systems as integral components of drying machines.”
The wording in the identification of goods is indefinite and must be clarified to indicate that the computer hardware and software and the control systems are SOLD as integral components of the goods. See TMEP §1402.01.
The applicant may adopt the following if accurate:
Class 007: computer hardware and software SOLD as integral components of clothes washing machines for the control of said machines; control systems SOLD as integral components of washing machines
Class 009: electrical integrated control systems CONSISTING OF _____ (SPECIFY COMPONENTS OF THE INTEGRATED CONTROL SYSTEM) for use in the field of laundry; electronic control systems CONSISTING OF _____ (SPECIFY COMPONENTS OF THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEM) for machines

An applicant may only amend an identification to clarify or limit the goods and/or services, but not to add to or broaden the scope of the goods and/or services. 37 C.F.R. §2.71(a); see TMEP §§1402.06 et seq., 1402.07.
