I am the examining attorney for the above-referenced service mark application.

 

A portion of the wording in the identification of services is indefinite and must be clarified. “Arranging and conducting trade shows” is misclassified in Class 41 and must be reclassified in Class 35. See 37 C.F.R. §§2.32(a)(7), 2.85; TMEP §§1401.02(a), 1401.03(b). Also, applicant did not specify that “arranging and conducting industry conferences” involved business conferences, which is a Class 35 service.” See TMEP §1402.01.  

 

Applicant may substitute the following wording, if accurate: 

 

Class 35: Arranging and conducting trade shows and industry BUSINESS conferences in the field of beverages.

 

An applicant may only amend an identification to clarify or limit the goods, but not to add to or broaden the scope of the goods.  37 C.F.R. §2.71(a); see TMEP §§1402.06 et seq., 1402.07.
