The registrant requests the following amendment(s) to registration no. 4589709 NG (Stylized and/or with Design, see http://uspto.report/TM/85925411/mark.png) has been amended as follows:

EXPLANATION OF FILING

The owner of the subject registration requests a correction to the registration as a result of a good faith owner error.  The owner of the registration should be National Guard Bureau, rather than Army National Guard, at the same address.

The National Guard Bureau (“NGB”) is a joint activity of the Department of Defense, and the National Guard is composed of the Army National Guard (“ARNG”) and the Air National Guard (“ANG”) 32 USC 101 (3).  (See:  http://www.arng.army.mil/aboutus/Pages/Organization.aspx).  ARNG manages certain aspects of the NGB trademark and licensing programs, including prosecution of trademarks and overseeing use by NGB and ARNG.  In filing the original trademark application, a good faith error was made when ARNG was listed as the “owner” of the mark.  However, ARNG’s relationship to NGB is analogous to that of an “operating division” in a corporate setting, and the owner should, in fact, have been identified as NGB.

For this reason, Registrant respectfully requests the Commissioner make the proposed correction and issue a corrected Certificate of Registration.
