Subject: USPTO Trademark Application Serial No. 85/542,187 and 85/544,444 for XT and ANCHOR (Atty Docket No. 8407.1062 and .0647)
Dear Jonathan M. Gelchinsky,
I am the trademark examining attorney reviewing the above referenced applications. After examining the applications, the only outstanding issue is amending the identification of goods.
XT 85/542,187
The identification of goods as filed reads as follows:
“Metal reinforced hoses, metal hose couplings, and metal hose and coupling assemblies,” in International Class 6;
“Rubber hoses; flexible hoses for use in hydraulics; rubber hoses for use in hydraulics; rubber hose assemblies,” in International Class 17.
The hoses in both classes must specify the material composition and field or purpose of the hoses. Those that do not specify the use of the hose must be amended. If accurate, I recommend adopting the following identification of goods:
“Metal reinforced hoses for use in hydraulics, metal hose couplings, and metal hose and coupling assemblies,” in International Class 6;
“Rubber hoses for use in hydraulics; flexible rubber hoses for use in hydraulics; rubber hoses for use in hydraulics; rubber hose assemblies for use in hydraulics,” in International Class 17.
ANCHOR 85/544,444
Similarly, in International Class 6 in this application the field or purpose of the hoses must be specified. International Class 17 is acceptable as written here. If accurate, I recommend amending International Class 6 to:
“metal hose couplings and fittings; metal couplings for use with hydraulic hoses; metal reinforced hoses for use in {specify use}; metal reinforced hydraulic hoses; wire braid hoses for use in hydraulics; spiral wire hoses for use in hydraulics; metal hoses for use in hydraulics,” in International class 6.
Please advise:
- if you would like me to amend the application by examiner's amendment as indicated above;
- if you have another amendment you would like to propose; or
- if you have any questions.
Please provide a response by Friday, May 4, 2012.
