The wording “producing news, entertainment” in the identification of services needs clarification because it is indefinite as it does not specify the medium for the news or the type of entertainment.  Applicant may change this wording to “Entertainment services, namely producing TELEVISION news SHOWS, entertainment IN THE NATURE OF ON-GOING TELEVISION PROGRAMS IN THE FIELD OF {indicate specific field, e.g., news, comedy, variety} and public service programs, and providing information in the field of entertainment or education via a global computer network,” if accurate.  TMEP §1402.01.

 

Please note that, while the identification of services may be amended to clarify or limit the services, adding to the services or broadening the scope of the services is not permitted.  37 C.F.R. §2.71(a); TMEP §1402.06.  Therefore, applicant may not amend the identification to include services that are not within the scope of the services set forth in the present identification.
