Applicant’s mark is RELIANCE while the marks in the cited registrations are RELIANT (U.S. Registration No. 3148802) and RELIENT (U.S. Registration No. 3617632).
In this case, Applicant’s mark and the registered marks have a highly similar commercial impression based on shared highly similar wording. Marks may be confusingly similar in appearance where there are similar terms or phrases or similar parts of terms or phrases appearing in both applicant’s and registrant’s mark.
