To the Commissioner for Trademarks:

The registrant requests the following amendment(s) to registration no. 3443114 CENTER FOR GIFTED EDUCATION POLICY(Standard Characters, see http://tess2.gov.uspto.report/ImageAgent/ImageAgentProxy?getImage=76676211) has been amended as follows:

EXPLANATION OF FILING

American Psychological Association, Inc., owner of Registration No. 3443114 hereby petitions for correction of the Certificate of Registration under Section 7(h) of the Trademark Act and Rule 2.175. At the time of filing Application Serial No. 76/676,211 and later during prosecution, Applicant inadvertently and in good faith made the following mistake due to a clerical error:

 

1) Applicant inadvertently omitted the legal entity designation “Inc.” from its name.

 

Accordingly, the following corrections are respectfully requested:

 

1) Please correct the name of the registration owner to AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION, INC.

 

This error was inadvertent and made in good faith, and resulted from a clerical error during the preparation and prosecution of Application Serial No. 76/676,211. The requested correction does not substitute another entity as owner of Registration No. 3443114, but merely corrects the registration owner’s full legal name. This correction is not material and does not require re-publication of Application Serial No. 76/676,211.  TMEP 1609.10(b).

 

The requested correction is believed to be closely similar and of the same nature as the examples of acceptable corrections listed in TMEP 1201.02(e).

 

The Post Registration Section has previously granted requests by Registrant to correct similar mistakes in several of its registrations. For example, a Section 7 correction was previously granted for the same type of inadvertent error in Registration No. 3110663 for the mark PSYCHMARKETER, also owned by American Psychological Association, Inc.
