EXPLANATION OF FILING

At the time when the application was filed (to wit, November 5, 2003) which matured into Reg. No. 2956626, Registrant was Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V. Registrant still is currently Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V. As noted by the USPTO in the TMEP, Appendix D, the (Netherlands) designation “N.V.” “is an abbreviation for Naamloze Vennootschap, which is a public limited liability company, equivalent to a corporation.” When filing in the form for the subject application, the box adjacent to “Corporation” was checked and the country was indicated as “The Netherlands”, as it appeared to be the most accurate depiction of Applicant’s entity type. However, recent practice has determined that this selection was technically incorrect. This Section 7 Request for Correction is being submitted to merely correct the USPTO’s records to indicate that the entity type of Registrant, Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V. has always been for “Naamloze Vennootschap, a public limited liability company, of The Netherlands.” Registrant asserts that the above error occurred in good faith.

The signatory being warned that willful false statements and the like are punishable by fine or imprisonment, or both, under 18 U.S.C. 1001, and that such willful false statements and the like may jeopardize the validity of the application or submission or any registration resulting therefrom, declares that all statements made of his/her own knowledge are true and all statements made on information and belief are believed to be true.
