I am writing in response to your Office Action dated September 8, 2004,
concerning the filing to register the term "CALVERT GLOBAL DATABASE" as a
trademark.
In response to your previous comment that there may be a "likelihood of
confusion" with pending applications, and my February 19, 2004 explanation
that there is a legal relationship between the applicant and the owner of
the Calvert World Values Fund, Inc. mark, I would like to clarify that
Calvert Group, Ltd. is the investment manager and sponsor of the Calvert
World Values Fund, Inc., and therefore constitutes a single source.
Hopefully this additional clarification will overcome the Section 2(d)
refusal.
