In accordance with the authorization granted by Gregory C. Golla on February 21, 2003, the application has been AMENDED as indicated below. Please note that if the identification of goods or services has been amended below, any future amendments must be in accordance with 37 C.F.R. 2.71(a); TMEP section 1402.07(e). No response is necessary unless there is an objection to the amendment. If there is an objection to the amendment, the applicant should notify the examining attorney immediately.
In response to the examining attorney’s initial Office action, the applicant has acceptably clarified the “oriental bowl entrees,” and has also added a second class to the application to cover some of those entrees. However, in amending that particular item in the identification, the applicant inadvertently deleted the other four items in the original identification, all of which were acceptably worded in Class 30.
Accordingly, the identification of goods will now be further amended to simply re-insert the inadvertently omitted items, so that the identification will read as follows, in its entirety:
Class 29: Oriental bowl entrees, namely, frozen entrees consisting primarily of meat, poultry, fish or vegetables
Class 30: Frozen egg rolls, oriental dumplings, pork potstickers, seafood dumplings, and oriental bowl entrees, namely, frozen entrees consisting primarily of rice or noodles
The applicant responded to the requirement for a transliteration and translation of the Chinese character in the mark. That statement will now be slightly re-worded to conform to this Office’s format for properly providing this information. Specifically, the statement will reflect the fact that “MEI” is the transliteration of the Chinese character, and that the translation of the term “MEI” to English is “beautiful.” The amended statement will thus read as follows:
The Chinese character in the mark is transliterated to “MEI,” which means “beautiful” in English
The examining attorney appreciates the applicant’s assistance with regard to the above issues.
