The United States Patent and Trademark Office must receive the applicant’s response to an Office action within six months of the mailing date of the action. The Office action mail date was July 29, 2002. The applicant’s response was received on March 4, 2003. The Office should have received the applicant’s response no later than January 30, 2003.
